Is any difference between Image/Link strong backlinks?

For example,
<a href="MY LINK">keyword</a>
between:
<a href="MYLINK" title="keyword"> <img src="http://www.msnhiddenemoticons.com/Library/sun.jpg" alt="keyword"></a>

Strong anchor text will always be your best bet....never use "Click Here"....always use a phrase relevant to keywords used on your site

I always use text links for seo purposes, but if I have to use an image, I will put in the alt and title tag. I believe it helps to also have related text around any link, text or image.
