Greetings

I'm new to the site and have enjoyed everyone's posts, perhaps one day soon I'll have something to contribute. Unfortunately at this time I am not quite up to speed on even the basics of SEO (Just fired my guy). I am trying learn quickly, and I have many long tail searches that are about to become very popular due to a new product being released.

Can anyone give me a basic outline of where to start on this, our site is optimized and ranking already for some good searches, and these phrases are pretty much untouched right now. I just don't know where to start, and the terminology is new to me as well such as link wheels and 2.0.

Anyone who is good at making things happen quickly and wants to help a new guy welcome to reply!

Thanks!

No sure what you're asking...do you want someone to teach you the entire SEO outline in a single post? That would take days to type out.

If your website is already optimized and your currently ranking well for your terms then all you need to do is to keep gaining backlinks to the site so that it will continue rising in the search engines or to maintain the top spot in the search engines.

You can gain backlinks in various ways.

Article Marketing (write a short 400 word article about your topic and using an anchor text link back to your main site)

High PR Profiles (find some blogs in your websites topic that are DOFollow, create an account and input your websites URL under website area of your profile)

Youtube Videos (make a few videos about your new products and be sure to put an anchor text link back to your main site under the video description)

    Social Bookmarking (self explanatory)

Linkwheels (Basically find 16-20 Web 2.0 websites that have DOfollow backlinks and create a one page site that is related to your topic. Definition of Web 2.0. Article should be 400 words long and somewhere in the article create an anchor text link back to your money site and then create an anchor text link back to the previous linkwheel site you created. Think of it like a bicycle wheel. The rim is round with spokes leading back to the middle of the rim. The middle of rim is your money site. Each site points "BACK" to the previous site creating a wheel, each site also points to your main site...This passes link juice to the main site boosting it's ranking....Now days people create what's called an open linkwheel where each site points back to the previous site but do not close the wheel leave it open meaning that site a will not come back to itself to close off the wheel. It is suppose to keep Google from detecting the wheel and devaluing your links.

There you go....if you site is not in the #1 spot then rinse and repeat those above listed items until you are #1.....I personally setup all the above 1 time and then keep up the high pr profile backlinks until I rank #1...but I'm starting to incorporate more of those items listed now to keep my links diversified and looking natural to Google.

    Best of Luck!!!!

      Great reply!

How do you know if a site's link is a DOFollow or NOFollow?

      Thanks!

Thanks for the replies, this is awesome! Regarding link wheels, do you write and post the same article on all 20 sites, or should it be different content?

And is there anything I have to do once I set up those links? I read about indexing them but no clear description (for a beginner that is!) on how this is done.
      Thanks again!

Making things happen with SEO involve continuous, daily link- building methods, including:

    · Stick to one link-building method and strive to do at least 50 to 100 links per month using ONLY that method.
    · Any link is a good link--from sources such as directory submissions and press releases--that includes the keyword in the anchor text. Don't be too focused on what type of link or its source.
    · Quality links are of more value to your website than the quantity of links.

Again, make sure you have quality content on your website as well.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

One more question, if I have say 5 different phrases that I would like to rank for, do I just keep rotating those 5 in my anchor text? Because we're in every state, I would also like to dominate each state with these phrases (which would be even longer tail and less competitive to start), therefore how would one expand this into a more comprehensive campaign? Just keep putting links with whatever phrase you want to rank for as the anchor text over and over again?

Thanks again I do appreciate your feedback!

    Google search lemonarian linkwheels

Setup a few link wheels around your site and then use KonradBraun's and Russ Sells massive link building service to post links to the hubs - outer pages of your linkwheel[s].

You'll need to get your master list of web2 urls together fast - and then let these guys do their thing. You could run a few thru link racer too - but since he's only really got 150 or so sites/urls go there.

Then you could get a copy of Link Farm Evolution and have some fun there as well.

Good times ... good times ...

    Rock on sir!
