Does backlinking a inner page give the homepage a boost in the serps too ??

Hi Guys,
I keep reading about how important backlinking inner pages are instead of just sending alll the links to the home page, But like a few people i guess my site is only small and the homepage is the money page, So i`ve created a new page just to backlink can anyone tell me if they are actually seeing serp movement of their homepage just by backlinking the inner page please ??

And yes i do know how important it is to spead your links around with different text ect ect i just curious if it really does move the homepage too

    It is very beneficial to get backlinks to pages inward. This gives your site depth for the serps and allows them to see that you aren't just a selling site and that you are a quality site with relevant content. I have done this on Lecova.com and i am ranking for about 100 keyword that are all pointing to internal pages on the site.

    When people suggest to build links to your inner pages it's not just for appearing natural in big G's eyes. I think you are just ignoring the fact that by building links to your inner pages you can target way more keywords and rank for them.

    Of Course it boosts the homepage ranking. If you have a link back to your homepage the inner page can pass on link juice and value to your homepage with a powerfull backlink.

    If you have a link back to your home page then yes it can but it will also give an INDENTED listing in google dependent on the keywords the page is ranking for..
