For those who have started knowing very little yet worked their way to the first page of Google, if you had to do it again and had say, $2K what services and tools would you invest it in?

Those who offer services please feel free to post as well, but really just trying to get a game plan going here.

Thanks!

It's a professionally done site for services where they can get quotes, we call the leads and close them.

2 Grand can take you a long ways, depending on how much time you want to put into your seo as well. I'll assume you want to hire everything out, heres what I'd do:

    1. Directory submit to all the PR1+ directories you can find. Not as powerful as it once was, but it still gives you great results. I've ranked sites on the first page just with this. I offer this service to 1000 directories for $40, check my sig to see the offer and a case study.

    2. Get 2-3 articles written and submit them to the top directories. Put your link in the anchor text. I've got a complete list of directories ordered by PR here. I use warrior gian to write them (.97cents per 100 words), then there are others who will submit for a small fee.

    3. Get forum profile links made. Start with maybe 200 the first month, then do 200 or so every month til you get your results. Should be able to find a warrior to do this for you for ~$50/mth

    4. Blog commenting - I dont do too much of this - but if you got the money why not. Hire a warrior to do maybe 200-300 comments on dofollow sites. Cost: ~$100?

    5. Press release with PRweb. Never tried this myself - but others said they have good results. I think its $200

    6. Add your site to yahoo - really expensive at $300/year, but google loves them. If you've got the money, definitely do it.

    7. Submit to dmoz. long wait, but it's $free.99

    8. Buy a social bookmark program like socialbot ($25?) and social bookmark your site and all the links you've created.

This isn't listed in any particular order, but I would start with the directory submission and dmoz submission first.
