I am going to launch my new site soon but before launching it and submitting it to Google webmaster tools i want to know which is a better option?

1 - build backlinks and then submit it to Google Webmaster to crawl and get indexed?

2- Submit site to G-Webmaster and then build backlinks after my site crawled?

Maybe the title of your thread is misleading.
If your site is online, it could be indexed. I suppose
you could you a noindex tag, but that would not
    be prudent.

It does not matter if you submit your site or not.

You want to build links as soon as as fast as you can.

One really has nothing to do with the other.

Submitting a site to webmaster tools really has nothing to do
with your site being crawled or indexed in the true sense of
the word. This is not a requirement nor is it needed.

I can't take part in the poll, as "It doesn't matter" is not an option.

Yeah the question assumes that they are two different activities. I actually get my site indexed by placing backlinks. Never bothered with submitting it to google unless I detect a problem.

I was considering to build backlink first before submitting it to Google. my hypothesis was that when google crawl my site it will also search for keywords and anchor text and it will save my 15 days to get backlinks being crawled

The main thing is you need to submit to quality backlinks and do it quickly!

Build backlinks because that is the most important thing to do anyway. Plus it will get your site crawled and indexed. No need to submit your site anywhere to get it indexed because the search engines will find it through backlinks anyway.

This is what i was thinking to build a backlink first and then sumit it to Google to get indexed.

Also create an HTML file and locate all the links where i had submit my site and then add it to my web sitemap and ask Google to crawl it as my sitemap is updated. This is the another way i think that Google will crawl my site and also crawl links which i had provided previously in html file.

      But you are not reading.

There is no need to submit your site to google,
one way or the other. Google will crawl it when it is
good and ready. They may have already crawled it.

Using the webmaster tools is not really connected
      to google indexing a site.

Tip: Your backlinking on high PR pages is actually one
of the fastest ways to get indexed.

So, what are you waiting for?

I wait for the website to get indexed (showing up in the SERPs when doing site: search) by a quick and easy method first, then only build my backlinks.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for a website that is still unknown to most people to have a lot of backlinks.

If your not in a rush to build links then submitting to Google Webmaster tools is a good start, they will still index your site without links pointing to it. But if you need to get indexed fast then posting in high traffic forums or blogs is the best way to go, this will most likely get you indexed in less than 24 hours.

This is what I usually do for my new sites. Once my new site is ready and uploaded, up goes my adsense. This follows backlinking work to get indexed which usually take up to 3 to 4 days.

Don't ever submit your site, unless you have an exact reason. just worry about your links and it will get indexed automatically.

Don't bother submitting to Google or the other search engines straight away

Have some good content, make sure your onpage seo is up-to-speed, social bookmark your articles, send pings for your blog & you will be surprised how quickly the search engines index your site without submitting them

Of course once this has happened you can submit & verify to the different search engines so that you can then access their stats they have on your site

      Best of luck
