Sitemap for sitemap AND blog?

Title should read 'sitemap for site and blog?' -sorry

I've got a couple of sites with blogs 'attached' for the purposes of fresh content etc.

Is it necessary to have 2 sitemaps, 1 for the site and 1 for the blog, or just have the 1 for the site showing all the site and blogs pages?

    One should be enough.

    Sitemaps are just maps for the search engines.

      I have xsitepro and they always put two site maps on my websites. But I really don't think it makes to much difference. I would say better safe then sorry.
