Some quick tips for you.

First, submit to social bookmarks. Submit to many "dofollow2 social bookmarks sites. Submit your posts or main launch post to the dofollow social bookmarking sites.

Then submit your feeds to the feed directories.
Launch a Press Release and have it posted to many press release sites.

When getting backlinks it is important that you get links from a variety of sources. You want some of the links from article directories, some links from web 2.0 sources, and some links from blog commenting.

The real key is to keep the link-building natural in the eyes of Google. There are some great WSOs running right now with regards to backlinking, just make sure that you build a combination of dofollow and nofollow links, as this looks the most natural in the eyes of Google.

If you have the money it is usually better to outsource the link building, at least that is what I do. Saves me a ton of time and allows me to work on other tasks that are not so boring and tedious.

That Atomic Backlink book - you might want to update the information about the so called Content Crooner stuff.

The URL you have, article-traffic.info - the domain name has only existed since December 2009 according to a whois.

Then, when I went to the "how it works" link, and clicked on the list of publishers - it looks like an impressive list - at first.

Except, when I clicked on the links of the so-called publishers (The Publisher List) - I clicked on some random ones, they ALL were domains that were for sale - none had any content published.

Check it out:

All Fishing Articles - allfishingarticles.net - parked sedo domain
All Boating Articles - allboatingarticles.com - another parked domain that is just advertising - no content
All Wine Articles - allwinearticles.com - another parked domain with no content but advertising...

And on it went.

Seems a little fishy to me.

Could you explain a little better how you use this "Content Crooner" and where exactly articles get published to?

For me the one that works best is forum commenting, bookmarking and pinging... I make it a habit to do a little bit everyday. But of course, it would be good to do A WHOLE LOT MORE daily... :-)

Remember that commenting on only nofollow blogs won't help your cause....

creativedevelopment.com is also good for dofollow blog sites. (sorry couldn't provide link as I haven't reached the post limit.... must try harder !)

3) Comment on other peoples blogs.
4) Use social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.

Every project will have different ways by which they will get quality back links. you will have to do each seo technique once at a time then look for the result. if that technique is not providing good result then use another one. Google also changes it algorithms now and then, some times back links are not preferred and other times they are strongly considered. i would advice you to use relevant Article Marketing for good back links.

What works best is having an authority site and giving your new site links from it, such as what icanhascheezburger, Huffington Post and many other big time sites and corporations do.

Don't have an authority site or anything close to it? Build one or buy one.

In backlinking, variety is the real key. You should not stick with only one particular backlinking strategy. Also, the other factor in backlinking is consistency. So long as you keep on building backlinks on a consistent basis while targeting the right keywords, you will see some progress.

You can build links fast using any method - its just how far you go that dictates how fast it will happen.

For quick links, think profile link building, decent blog commenting etc, if you can get them indexed quickly then they are almost instant in some cases.

I would also seriously look at great content - nothing gets people linking faster than something genuinely useful.

How quick you build also links to your ethics. A lot of people think any link you build yourself is evil, others see it as part and parcel of being in a pretty tough online environment.

The speed you build links at is also not going to get you scrutinised as some will tell you. As long as your link velocity (the rate at which new links are built and google finds them) remains steady then you will be ok - its the massive peaks that Google finds suscpicious (ie, one month it find 40 new links to your site, the next 50000 - hmmm what would you think!).

When you submit a comment on other people's blog, you are usually asked to provide your name, email address, URL and comment text itself. You can use your keyword anchor text as your name. When your comment is posted, your URL becomes attached to your keywords.
If you liked the blog you commented on, do not forget to submit it to social media sites using Share It button. This will give more exposure to the blog posts that you have commented on and increase traffic to them. Some of the traffic will trickle down to you, making your comment more impactful.

Blog commenting is so much more powerful than social bookmarking. It's not even close.

I'm yet to see a site rank for a worthwhile keyword with solely social bookmark links.
