More Pages you Setup = More $$$ from adsense (in theory)

Wouldn't it make sense that the more you write - and more pages you setup - and place adsense ads on them - the more chance of ppl clicking on ads? And the more money you make?

Here's the deal - I work full time in the IT field, but have a part-time business doing SEO work for six clients. A year ago, I was just writing stuff about things that interested me - and I had Google ads up on these pages. I was averaging about a buck or two a day - nothing big. I got off track with my writing and started making money by offering my SEO services to others. However, with my full-time job and working part-time for my clients (and doing this for about a year) - I'm exhausted. I have thought about going back doing what I was doing part-time - writing for myself and making a few bucks off of adsense.

So - going back to my original question - in theory - if a person puts up a lot of pages and websites and optimizes them correctly - this person will make some money off of adsense considering the odds. It seemed to work for me on a small scale. So would you guys agree that the more optimized pages that you put up - the more you make? If this is true - then why isn't everyone putting up thousands of pages to make a half way decent living off of adsense (or any other type of ads or affiliation programs)?

It may be true but there are a lot of factors to consider. The niche of your website, visitors location, nature of your website, market competition and many more!

Traffic also matters. If you setup 1000 pages for the topic (Niche) whose demand is too low then you won't get enough traffic and so no money. 100 high demanding pages each with 100 visits are much better than 1000 pages with 1 visit.

Absolutely, for a longer period especially, also if you really want to make of it a big site where you can make money through adsense and through banners.
You will need more time to setup everything then usually but i like that kind of site building.

i am earning with this formula only..

more pages with own content = more traffic...

Because its hard work and very time consuming. Assuming they want to provide all round value, have to do the research on nieche then write articles on it.
Writing 500 pages of 500 word article does not come easy for most people. I suppose it can be outsourced but thats potentially expensive.

Indeed, and now someone has to work for months and not get a penny, it is difficult, I know the feeling, because people mostly thinking about black hat methods, to automate everything, to get 2000 pages per days or something like that

I've been on hubpages a couple of months. I reckon I could make a living out of it. Most people give up though, as the first few months are tough, especially if you get smartpriced or something. hubpages is also not kind to blackhatters, those crappily spun articles don't generally last long there.

In theory, YES you can, however the reality is a little bit different.

Since most of your traffic will come via natural search, the best option is to carry out effective keyword research in highly searched keywords but with low competition and a decent CPC (ideally over $1). If you can find these 'golden nuggets' and can write about them then you are well on your way to earning yourself some money.

Your best bet is to probably create your own niche sites and promote these as you will earn 100% from your own sites, the drawback that it will take considerably longer. If you don't want to use your own site then you can use Web2.0 properties such as Hubpages or Squidoo, but I only tend to use these for ranking purposes for my own sites. If you are a passionate writer then you shroud be able to earn something from here.

If you can work smarter and not just harder then you are already half way there. Since you know SEO already, just apply everything you already know with all the helpful info here and you should start earning in no time.

    Good luck

    Bingo! Good point.

Yes, some of the stuff I'm going to write is my personal experiences. My wife will do the same and then I will optimize her stuff as well. I want to write things that interest me - because if I write about things that don't - it takes me a long time to write one page.

    Because:

    1. Most of the advice out there is to build tiny niche sites and backlink the crap out of them. There's hardly any recommendations to build large sites, except from Google itself of course, but why listen to the biggest web company on earth when you can listen to some dude posting on a forum

    2. People like the idea of putting a page or two up and then moving on to another niche site. After 10 or 20 or 30 they aren't making any money and quit.

    3. Everyone says big sites are hard work and most people are afraid of work!

    Bigcat,

What you're talking about doing definitely works. It just requires a process that you know works, then take that process and scale up.

    A couple things I'd recommend

    1. If your gonna do adsense, make sure you do your keyword research. You want to ensure you're keyword is getting alot of exact monthly searchs, has high cpc, and it's too competitive.

    2. Grab matured domains, 20x easier to rank with as they've already built trust with SEs.

    3. Grab the exact match domain if you can - ranking comes much faster

    4. Outsource if you've got the money to do so!

    Thats about it

    Good luck!

    - oh and look into other ways to monetize: clickbank, amazon, & cpa trial offers. Much higher payout than adsense.
