I need to autoblog. It's for a particular idea. In that I will be collecting posts from around the web each day. Writing a little introduction snippet then posting it to my blog.

I have adsense on this blog.

Is it against the TOS?

    Hi Intrepreneur,

Auto blogging is just a tool and the use of such a tool itself is not a violation of AdSense TOS. It's how the tool is used that makes it a violation or not. As long as you follow Google's Webmaster Guidelines and all of AdSense policies and terms you will be fine.

Most of those tools are used to steal content and offer little value to users. However if you use tools to auto post carefully selected content you will will be fine. It's how you use them that makes all the difference.

I was thinking this hence my title to this thread and thanks for verifying this with me.

As for what I wish to use it for - is a part of my site to be a news section but news from around the web that I get from feeds.

Hoping it doesn't get up Google's nose which I don't / didn't think it will. Well hopefully. What you think?

        Hi Intrepreneur,

There is a thin line between stealing content (copyright infringement) and reasonable use. In most cases you will be fine if you limit the snippet of text to a few sentences and link to the original source. I have done this on websites for several years and never had a problem with AdSense.

I highly doubt after reading some of Intrepreneur's posts that this was a serious question. For some reason I'm getting the feeling that he knows the answer to this question. But if it was... a serious question, I don't see any reason why it would be against Adsense TOS as long as you keep things useful and even then...there is all kinds of dupe content on all kinds of different sites with adsense on it. What issue would you be worried about with using an autoblog?

I know your trying to help a brother make more quid ... but its kinda considered bad form to post up a rather blatant advert for your offerings.

How about posting up a classified ad and discussing all the benefits and stuff you have over adsense - I for one would be interested to know more - but mods are getting heavy handed with the ban button - just a cautionary tale.

    best of luck.

Hmmm. Interesting question if it is legit. If you are using something that provides auto content and ALSO add some unique content, I see no reason it would not work. But it is still pennies per day.

AdSense definitely doesn't ban automatically autoblogs. There are plenty of autoblogs around showing AdSense ads, and some even get a good PR.
So no, AdSense does not ban autoblogs automatically. However, make sure you put the link to the original post. Otherwise, it might be seen as duplicate content, and you might be sandboxed.

    Just so you know.
