Hidding your IP address (location) BUT NOT your activity from Google Analytics

Hey all,

I'm still on the hunt for a decent bit of IP Hidding software / service / proxy etc.

Specifically, I want to hide my location from another site's Google Analytics so it picks up my activity (clicks, page views, bounce etc) BUT, and this is the BIG BUT...but it lists my 'City' (location) in Google Anayltics as 'Not Set' and therefore assumes i'm a new visitor, even though i'm not.

Does anyone know if Tor or Identity Cloaker does this?

Cheers
Martin

Not sure about tor or Identity Cloaker, but I know 'hide my ip' does hide your IP add. It also has a module that hide your mac add as well.

Do you require a new IP address every time you visit the site or just a different one from that you normally use?

      Hi Clive,

I guess it doesn't really matter, as long as google analytics DOES recognise the activity on site (page views, referral path etc) but DOESN'T know exactly where (location, city) the activity is coming from (i,e both these show as 'not set' in analytics).

Do you have something that you've been using?

      Cheers

You can use an anonymous proxy for this, but Google might well be wise to the commonly used proxies.

A client of mine wants to test google analytics to see what it does and does not register when using different IP addresses. He is considering buying a system called Atlas since, in his opinion, google analytics is fundamentally flawed.
