How to assume the conversion?

Hello warriors

I was giving a good challenge from a big industrial company. Basically, they are expert in building large industrial part including wind tower.

They want a PPC campaign. The aim of the campaign is to create more leads to their sale department. Problem: they have no option on their website that allows me to keep track of the conversion rate. There is no user account creation or cart (which won't make sense in their case) or even a contact form.

Does anyone have any idea how to track the conversion rate?

Thanks

The simple answer is YOU CAN'T. There needs to be some action on the site in order to complete a conversion/goal. And without the ability to track goals/conversions, it's hard for any company to know whether their PPC spend is working or not.

We work with a lot of clients that come to us without a trackable action on their site, and we always insist they add something. After PPC should be managed from a ROI perspective and you can't the the "Return" part of ROI without a measurable conversion.

My advice is to suggest setting up some type of "action"....a contact us form, an email opt-in, or even a trackable phone number to their sales dept (you can use a free Google Voice number)

If you don't have any forms or shopping cart solutions etc, then how do you know what to measure? I think being the 'expert' and the client coming to you I think you HAVE to tell them to develop a page or something where you can track conversions/RoI etc.

If they don't listen to you then they aren't serious about their online marketing efforts. I use to have many clients like this but you have to be firm. After all, its for their benefit.
