    That's a nice theme you have there - congratulations on your first build.

    To remove the ads you need to look somewhere in the theme files under the Theme Editor section in the WP dashboard. There should be an instruction file in with your theme files too. It's usually a case of switching the ads for your own.

    In regards to backlinking the url you use for the link is the page that will get the backlink so it will help the page you are linking to. That said your internal linking structure will then pass the link juice around your website.

    You should link to a variety of pages using a variety of keywords to make it look most natural.

    Before you get started it might be worth doing a search for link wheels and learning some of the best ways to build natural looking backlinks. You should also use a variety of traffic methods such as article marketing, forum posts, guest blogs, social bookmarking etc to build the links.
