Hi there,

Somewhere else on the forum I read the post below. I wondered whether somebody could elaborate on the effectiveness of it and on the pros and cons. As understand it it is ok for your site as long as you don't do it excessively and the value comes from links you get from higher PR domains... Is this true? Or am I just another guy talking crap?

THIS THE POST ON LINKBUILDING>>>

My best results are done like this:

1. Search Google for my keyword - like "**** Berry Diet" as an example
2. Look at each result on the first page only for a "links", "Partners" or "Blog roll"
3. Add the site to my own directory.
4. Personally email the Webmaster, show them their site in my directory, ask for a link back.

Keep searching with different variations like "**** Berry Directory", etc. and repeat.

I have gotten about a 25% response rate. BUT you have to have a really nice non-spammy site.

This are my best traffic and incoming PR links.

I think reciprocal links were outdated years ago. Search on this forum "profile links" and "terry kyle's" famous thread. One way links are where it's at now-a-days.

Its not useless. If you use spyglass or some other such software to spy on your competitors links in many major or small niches, you will be surprised at how many of them are still doing link exchanges. If you don't believe me try it out once and prepare to be surprised.

Its works fine to me for my Dutch sites, because i do a mix of oneway links and link exchanges. And it depends on the link exchanges,if they coming from a related niche.
