Only half my ads are right.

I'm really confused as to why this is happening so hopefully someone can help me out. I wrote an article on my site. I own the domain name, have the hosting, and using wordpress with the thesis theme. On my main page, I've only placed one article and there are irrelevant ads unrelated to the niche. However, when I click on the article title and go directly to that page, the ads are the right ones for my niche. Whats the difference between the ads showing on my main domain name and on the direct article link? How can I fix that?

Google identifies suitable ads based off keywords in your content.

If you know there are relevant ads available (because they're displayed on other pages within your site, for example), but your homepage is not showing them, it's probably because the topic of your homepage content is not clear enough to Google.

If you really must ensure your homepage ads are always relevant, you could try this:

Set Wordpress to use a static page (or a specific blog post) for your homepage all the time. Then providing you have enough relevant keywords within that pages/posts content, the ads should always be relevant.

To target the ads further, you could also then try using using the Google Adsense "ignore" tags in certain parts of the template for your homepage where you'd like Google to dismiss certain bits of content when determining ad relevancy (such as navigation menu, blogroll links, or whatever else may contain snippets of content that are "off-topic").
