As signature links are changed do the old links get de-indexed?

I was just noticing something that I never thought about before until now.

I was promoting one of my sites using the forum signatures which worked great but as I introduced a new site I decided to change my forum sig to that url.....i noticed that ALL my posts were now reflecting the new sig link as well.....so....what happens to all those links that Google found for my other sig? Are they going to be de-indexed because they no longer are in those same posts?

    They shouldn't be de-indexed if they have more backlinks other than your sig link. If your sig link was the only backlink, there is a possibility that the other site will be de-indexed.

      I agree too... the link itself should be there, but not the targeted site. Your targeted new site will inherits all the link juice.

        This is the exact same question I had in another thread... What happens to my links if I change my sig! I will be very careful from now on about my siglinks. I would love to have 500+ posts one day on these forums and offer grand advice, and I would love to have it count as 500+ backlinks!

        Hello kkchoon!

        I did a backlink check on your "Hidden Secret of 6 Figures Online Business" link that is in your signature. There are well over 500 backlinks attributed toward your postings in this forum!

        I want to ask, how long has that link been in your signature? Less than 500 posts or more? It could help us figure how much backlink juice we get from sig links =)
