Getting Ranked in Google Canada??

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this SEO issue I currently have. I have a company produced cookie cutter site (can't change title or META) that is based in the US but I would like to get ranked for a specific keyword in Google Canada. Does anyone know the proper way to go about that? I know you can host your site in the country that you are targeting but in this case I don't have any control over that.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I don't think host will be an issue on ranking on Google - Canada, To do so, you have to get more backlinks from .ca domain sites. That will help you to get rank well on Google-Canada.

Can you add a parked domain to the site? If so add a .ca domain. It will show the exact same site you have but with the .ca domain I believe you will show up in the pages from Canada searches.

It's odd but I'm from Canada and my sites always rank higher on .ca than .com. Yet my host is from the US and I don't have any canadian sites (.ca or whatever) from my backlinks.

Not too sure how they determine that ranking but maybe someone else has insight on this.
