Domain Redirecting Question (nothing to do with canonicalisation!!)
- SEO |
I have a domain - Welcome-Sedo.co.uk (for arguments sake) and due to a java application powering the login to the site the root domain redirects to Welcome-Sedo.co.uk (the homepage)
The websites has lot's of links pointing to it including .gov and .edu links and has a PR of 6, ranks well for incredibly broad keywords (Welcome-Sedo.co.uk ranks)
My question is - we are about to start a link building campaign for it's broad keywords, so would want to build links to the homepage, however which one should be built links to - the root domain (which redirects) or to the homepage Welcome-Sedo.co.uk
Currently domain.co.uk has 25,000 links and Welcome-Sedo.co.uk has 9,000 links.
What do you think??
I think the root domain due to Google's preference to the root domain and Google lists this page for our rankings for a major keywords.
Your thoughts or help would be much appreciated.
