Questions about Keyword Competitors and Website Content

For those keywords which have lower than 100 searches...should I bother with those keywords? Most of those keywords have very low competitors, well at least this is what I got by using the "keyword" on Google Search Engine.

And another question would be about my website...I have written quite a few of similar articles that related to the niche that I am promoting.

For example:

How to lose weight
How to lose 5 kg weight
How to lose weight fast with 3 steps
And etc

So, it is wise to post all of those articles into my website or I should just pick the best among those articles as my website main content while submit those remains articles to article directories?

Definitly worth targetting some long-tail keywords, they bring in some great organic traffic, while ranking for these long-tail keywords, you'll also be building backlinks to the domain, which obviously helps you rank for your main keywords, long tail keyword traffic is also laser targetted traffic, which is always good.

So in short, yes I would rank for long-tail keywords.

Ok this is going to be my first post here and i hope its useful to you.

If you have time you can certainly target those keywords with low search volume. You can create articles around these keyword and submit it to article directories(use goarticles - since you article will be auto approved) .You can link back to your website using the main keyword in the resource box. This way you build backlinks to your site and also your article will be ranking easily for low competition keyword. If you have time then you can bookmark your article using bookmarkwiz(my favorite bookmarking tool) or social bot. Also create a few rss feeds by mashing up your article and other related contents and submit the rss feeds to rss directories using rss bot. This will literally ensure that your article gets a good ranking for the low competition keyword.

As far as having articles about the same topic, its better if you any one of the article if all them literally talk about same thing. But if the three articles talk about different thing about the same topic, then you can certainly have all the three articles in your site. For example, you can have a category page called How to lose weight and then put these three articles under that category. Now your category page will also give you a chance to rank for the keyword How to lose weight.

I hope this information is some what useful to you.

Thanks for your input. And sorry for the bad example I gave about the content. I am talking about 3 or 4 similar talk about the same thing....only with different format

      For example :

How to generate your own energy for home
How to generate your own electricity for home.

But then, from what I read from your post...I guess posting similar articles in the same website is kinda redundant, right?

Here are our thoughts on this:
When doing your keyword research, don't focus your efforts on keywords with high total searches per month. The majority of keywords with large searches per month aren't necessarily buyers. Longer-tail keywords, or more specific phrases, often get less searches, but have higher conversions because the consumer tends to be looking for exactly what they are going to buy.
