Best Plan of Attack for Local Google Maps and SEO

Hey,

I'm helping my dad with online marketing (although I'm a newbie) of his real estate land developement in the Hill Country of TX. His current website is one that his realtor put together, so its not SEO'd and not showing in any search engines. Homeview.net

I have listed it on Google Maps, but not sure I have put together the listing properly SEOwise.

Should I put together (or outsource) a seperate blog that can be SEO'd for the best keywords then plan an attack for traffic to the blog?

Any local SEO help is appreciated. I would love a game plan to get his gorgeous property visable online for those searching for lakefront property to build in the Hill Country. Even direction to a great WSO would be helpful as well.

My Best,
Melinda

    Hi Melinda

If I were you I would start by looking at the Onpage Optimisation of your Dads site & have that all sorted before considering your next step to Offpage Optimisation

SEO & Online Marketing is a very in-depth and complex subject, so there is no short answer, if you are new to SEO then it might be worth you considering outsourcing

However, if you are interested in learning and helping your Dad at the same time then a good start would be to read the Official Google SEO Starter Guide

I made a post about the guide a few days ago here:

Great point - get your onsite SEO optimized first. It will be the basis of any offsite SEO, and provide the quick / easy wins for SEO ROI
