How do Some Ezine Articles get Ranked so Well?!

I see this all of the time, there will be like 30,000 articles about a particular topic, and their will literally be one article that ranks for dozens of high traffic keywords.

But there is nothing significantly special about that article. They are all well optimized, have good keyword density, over 500 words in the article, and possibly even some backlinks. But there is always that one article, that just continuously shows up in like every related keyword I look it up in. And i use different computers with different IP's to look them up too, and they still rank high.

What gives?

Perhaps he used proper LSI in his article so he is ranking for a group of keywords with the same article.

They could be doing multiple things such as social bookmarking their ezine article. Linking other articles to their ezine to get in up the ranks. Things done behind the scenes that some people just don't do and wonder why their articles, ezines are not ranking.

Agreed, that was my guess. I believe if you just write a bunch of articles, out of every hundred you may get a couple of winners.

Good keywords reaerch coupled with a well written article.

Also, I do all the 'behind the scenes' stuff that you read above like social bookmarkign etc and believe it or not it does help. Some of my articles have a PR of 1 and 2. Im sure this is due to all the interlinking and backlinks.
