Ranking High on Youtube

So not only do i want to know the little secrets, but i feel like this post could benefit others..What are the main aspects to ranking in youtube? other than the obvious (views, comments, ratings, tags, title) is there other things that can get you up there? How effective is backlinking through youtube? Any YT experts want to throw us a bone? Also youtube has changed their setup a bit if you havent noticed...does anyone know how beneficial it is to be under the "most liked" category?

    As a suggestion, unless you're aim is to spam the forum (in which case at least add a signature so you can gain something from it)....probably a good idea to wait a while for responses.

    Only 28 people have even viewed this and I clicked thinking there was already an answer here based on the response.

    You can also try the main forum as I don't recall ever seeing a thread that gave any specific directions to use.

      The youtube search engine uses the following to rank your video:

      1 -The title of your video
      2 - The description of your video
      3 - The tags that you assign to your video

      Because YouTube can't actually "read" what's in the video itself, it relies on you to tell him what the video is about.
      You should include your primary keyword phrase in the title, description and tags of each video.

      I know that there are software's like Tubeincreaser that increasing YouTube views (Google on Tubeincreaser) I personally didn't try it so check carefully before using it.

    Big secret: Google likes the pages that get updated, I see some videos on youtube with PR4! This is the result of being updated.
    Other factors are obvious, title, backlinks etc.

    It's interesting because so many of us have talked in the past couple of months especially about increasing the value of certain links that you own, like your blog, but until this point it has never occurred to me to spend some time backlinking to my YouTube videos.

    Especially when there is a natural connection to my Twitter and FB fan pages, this is especially dumb lol.

    That being said, my niche does not exactly bring in thousands of daily youtube viewers

    The ranking of the videos will first depend on the Title, Description and tags and then the responses to your videos and also the rating of your videos.
