It's very simple. Just key your profile with a strange name.

If you're not sure what name to give, just type in any strange name into G. And if G doesn't show up any search result, that means you own this name

So, after you've created forum profiles using this name and done all the ping and rss... wait for a while. Type in this strange name in G to see whether it shows up.

Simple and it's free.

Hardi

Btw: G index this post within 10 mins. There's no ping or rss here.

That can be a very tedious process if you have heaps of links to check. There is very inexpensive software that can check them for you.

Why do people bother checking if profile links are indexed???

Just keep building, pinging and moving on.

c'mon Jazzy, you know the answer to this.

running a program like this is a simple process and then you take the list of non-indexed profiles and run them through whatever secret sauce method you use to make sure a site is indexed or backlink boost or however you like to do it.

as for myself, I keep a list of everything so I know what sites are "good to go" when I'm running through the process again with new sites. I don't want to waste time on sites that are quick to ban are nofollow or have some other issues.

That's exactly I want to respond.

If a horse, I mean a link, doesn't get index no matter how we flog it, why not just give up and concentrate on other good links.

We should have a habit to keep a A1 list. That's why it's good to do all the sorting for future SEO campaign.

I do want to keep a list too of all my link building activities. Based on the result, I would know whether it's worth spending time on it or not.

Heres what I have started to do.

Create some free blogs, post to them every day using some really obscure keyword in title so its easy to get on page 1 google and ensure your posts are spidered regularly.

        EG, super pink curly widgets.

Yeah I know its meaningless but I also know Im going to be at the front of the queue for ranking.

Create a short diary of these meaningless phrases and once your blogs are spidered regular, drop your links back to the profile pages in your posts.

You will now see your posts indexed very quickly and know your links to the profiles also got spidered.

Not all of them get indexed, pal.

I just got data from my boys.

          1) The content in the profile is an important factor.

          2) Some forum owners love to put lots of (static or dynamic) content on top of profile page. Such page tends to get into index easier.

          3) Some forum owners use vbSEO and similar plugins to the forum. These tend to make the spider happy. But the downside is that plugins like these are able to insert nofollow attribute into the links.

          4) The type of link to the profile is crucial. Static link tends to make G happy than the dynamic link.

          5) Crowded forum tends to make G happy than the less crowded forum. It means more content. But another factor comes into play -- the download speed of the forum which G is now considering it as a factor.

          6) Plain profile (no update) tends to be useless to G. G tends to love profile that allows visitors to post messages. [Note: This is my favorite method of generating back-links]

Btw, when I use the word 'tends', I really mean that there's a possibility. So, nothing is concrete unless you test it out.
