Lost in Adwords for a classified ads website

Hi guys.
I run a regional classified ads websites in my country. For a year or so, i use adsense and goes well.
After stucking at around 1000 uniques per day, trying to add traffic, i started AdWords. Did a small reading 1st, nothing much.
After a week, and after spending around 50 euro, i only added 100 unique visitors per day and a 20% increase of my adsense earnings.
I'm not happy. Should i be ? I'm sure i'm doing my campains wrong or what ?
Any suggestions ?
