I've got a high quality site that I'd like into Dmoz. I think it's pretty helpful for its target market, and it's getting good love all around.

I took off affiliate links in hopes that it would make me more likely to get into dmoz, but I'm getting good traffic and not offering any products to my visitors, so I'm not making money off of it.

Do you think having adsense on my site while I wait for dmoz to look at it would hurt my chances of getting in?

having adsense may, or may not make a difference.

Even if your site deserves to be in dmoz, you may submit it once a months and not get in ever. Sometimes a site will get in fairly quickly but you can not count on it.

My point is that you need to do what you want with your site and do not wait for dmoz. Just submit it and forget it.

That is more likely to get you baned from DMOZ.

      All you can do is:
      1. Have a site that is actually worthy of being listed
      2. Write a guideline compliant title and description
      3. Submit ONCE to the ONE best category
4, Move on; forget about it; there is nothing more you can do. Anything more you do (eg email editors; submit again is likely to be counterproductive)

An editor may or may not to decide to use the pool of suggested site to look for sites to add when they working on a category.

Mattaym - PM me the site and I can give you an idea if it listable (I am NOT an editor though)
