Nope, many sites are same IP!

Plus they control spam closely... hard to get long term links

Does that mean Google Bomb links packet is no longer relevant?

IF they are not on sites that pay to stay active then your links will disappear shortly

Why not set up your own Ning network? I have one and I use it like a blog, each time I submit articles to directories I also add one to my Ning account as a blog post with a link pointing back to my website.

You might have missed the announcement. Ning is closing down its free program and concentrating on its paid model.

Thanks Mike, yes I did miss that, I had no idea they were no longer free.

Oh well, time to move on, thankfully I have a number of blog type sites and not just the Ning one.

Yes. You can read about it here

I think it underscores the fact that profile backlinking is a great way to start out but that ultimately you have to branch out and away from it. Platforms are going under in big chunks. earlier this year many forums started going nofollow with the latest vbulletin release

    WTF!

I guess it's a good thing I haven't relied on Ning too much but damn, another yummy backlinking source down the drain.

Dear Ning, I'll miss you and your easy to exploit blogs, not to mention how easy it was to add my links to all of the other spamm... internet marketers blogs. It was a good relationship while it lasted but perhaps we'll have to admit that we've outgrown each other and it's now time to move on.

ps, I've been cheating on you with vBulletin and Expression Engine for months now. Don't be angry with me.
