The best quality backlinks are ones from the 'authority sites' in your niche. So if you can write, the best thing to do for free backlinks is approach these sites and ask them if they're in need of any guest posts. Stick in a couple of on topic links with good anchor text.

Rinse and repeat.

Look for blogs that use keywordluv. These blogs will allow you to have links with anchored text in your comments.

Download SEO spyglass free version, then analyze an authority site ( or any site really ) in your niche and see where they are getting back links from and then see if you can copy them.

I use tube mogul to send my video out to 20+ sites and embed my backlinks in the description on each site. Its effortless back link building.

I also use Article Post Robot to send my article to 500 sites and thus create 500 backlinks instantly. Yes the PR varies from 0 - 7 but there is nothing wrong with that.

The best way is to join the free taffic system they allow you to publish your article to 30 their blogs with 2 backlinks thats 60 backlinks on 1 article.

WordPress sites are all default on Nofollow. You shouldn't waste time on that. Comment Luv and Keyword Luv are Wordpress plugins so you shouldn't spend much time on that.

If you do article submission the best site to submit your article about your site is ezine article and for bogging posting in do follow blogs is much better.

Try to get backlinks from forums and blogs. It would be better if you get your sites' backlinks from niche sites. Make a list of the niche sites and try to get backlinks from them. The process could be time consuming but can be fruitful. Also write unique and informative content for your site and post them on different article directories.

Blog commenting is a quick and easy way of getting quality backlinks. Just make sure they are do-follow meaning that you get link juice from them. Other wise it's a complete waste of time... Well for SEO anyway

There are various methods through which you can get backlinks to your site.Build pages at hubpages and squidoo .Both of these are free sites. Make sure to add a link to your site using keywords as your anchor text. At squidoo you can also add a link to your product or service you are promoting
