Getting so demoralised ! My best site has disappeared from the serps..AGAIN !!!

Hi guys,
Feel alittle pi..ed off today my best site which was out of the serps for 2 months came back yesterday only to disappear about 7 hours later !!

This is my best site about $25 every day and it was sitting page 1 for my keyword then it disappered i didn`t panic just added new content kept slowly adding backlinks i knew it would come back and maybe even stronger so i waited then yesterday i just typed the keyword in over breakfast and bang it was there i was so happy although it didn`t cone back stronger it was now on page two but never mind it was back !!

Got home from work 8 hours later and it gone again wow this is really getting me down because over the past two weeks 3 of my adsense sites have disappered funny enough my best adsense sites out of the 15 or so adsense site i own the 3 that have disappered are the 3 lagerest and best earners.

This is so demoralizing i`ve worked so hard on those 4 sites the big product site, and the 3 not big but each has 10 pages adsense sites, I had built my earnings up to about $45 a day yeah i know its not much but it was fine for a single guy like me !! And now my earnings are down to yesterday $4 from the other adsense sites that i own which dont really make much as you can see.

So how do you guys keep going when things like this happed ?? If you guys where me what would you do i just have no energy today i`m really really p....ed off today, Why do you think my site came back after 2 months just for 8 hours ?? , Why do you think out of all my adsense site the top 3 earners disappered and the 12 or so non earners stayed put ??

Hey Jim

Move on, move forward.

Long story short: Had 3 websites ranking top 3 for some good keywords for almost 3 years. Just unique content, no keyword spamming in content nor in header, meta tags, etc etc.

Just 3 damn good sites updated every 2-3 days with unique content for 3 long years, sites that follow EVERY rule in the Google webmasters book. The income was always more then $100 everyday, just from those 3 ones.

Then one day the 3 sites, completely different sites, coding, niches, white hat sites, DIFFERENT SERVERS, never interlinked, and often updated... went MIA.

Happens every now and then to some unlucky guy like YOU and ME.

WE just have to move on. Work smarter, do it all over again.

And never trust G again.

Hi Jim Few Points here,

1. Be careful not to put all your eggs in one basket i.e. dont rely completely on one website for your online income.... diversify

2. Google changes its algorithm every now and then so even if you are #1 today one algorithm update and the strategies you were using to keep that #1 spot may no longer apply.

3. Since Google brought in univeral search i think backlinks have less of an effect. let me explain. Run a search on google for the term 'tiger woods' and you will notice that the results are spread across the following verticals;

- video
- images / photo
- news / pr sites
- blogs
- html sites

So in you situation if you are relying completely on your html site, you are not satisfying Google full search criteria.

You need to engage in blogging, marketing on photo sharing sites, marketing on pr sites, and above on video marketing on video sharing sites.

I specify video marketing because I have proven it is possible to get #1 ranking within 24 hours using video alone without any backlinks, and that position will hold without having to build future backlinks.

In my opinion video marketing is the most powerful internet marketing strategy

Hey Fernando,
Yep my sites are as really white hat too just used articles and profile pages as backlinks never blasted them with spammy backlink tricks or anything like that and added some good content also not as much as yours at every 3-4 days for 3 years !!

But you seem to feel like the 3 sites you have missing in action are gone for good ? Or is it just how i have read your reply surely this is just some kind of a dance or sandbox or what ever the place is called when a site goes MIA but is still found by site:.......... You are still hoping that your sites will come back arnt you ?? I kind of want to hear you say you KNOW your sites will come back ha ha

I guess this is where strength in number comes in if i had a few more sites like my $25 day product site i wouldnt worry so much but as i dont this is a big blow more so today because it come back for a few hours yesterday and i thought that my $25 would be following !

But you know boy this business really does feel to me like its built on sand sometimes when just as i was thinking if i could double my $45 a day i could start to relax a little then aout of the blue google drops my sites how can you guys ever feel comfortable working under the whims of google ??

I know about building a list and i think i just might take a long hard look at that as i feel dont fancy PPC

Yeah i got to $45 a day without a list why do you think thats good ?? I thought you guys on the WF would laugh at that thats why i added ..thats fine for a single guy... I hope you are suggesting its good because that would cheer me up a little today.

And i really wont to start a list in the fitness and buildbuilding niche because i love fittness training and although i dont ever want to be one i do admire pro bodybuilders and would love to build a list to sell supplements .

But i just dont know where to start ??

For an adsense site that is not shabby but that depends on how many hours you have in it I guess.

Since the day they went MIA almost 2 years ago (or is that more???) they always show at page 5 for their niche search queries. Of course they show up as #1 for their own URL.

YET I keep updating them once a week, once every two weeks hoping they get up again BUT so far NADA. It's easy to do that, just set a G Alert with my competition URL's, rewrite all the news with my own words/approach and voilá.

But hey, Maybe one day they come from the dark side?

That was probably just a freshness bounce if you just added content. Are these site's interrelated in any way? I know some people are big on multiple single keyword minisites for adsense but I don't believe in it. IT leaves a key ingredient out of the traffic equation -

Repeat visitors and word of mouth and natural link traffic.

Try and wind together microniches into a single larger niche as you go forward. Something that in time people would want to link back to and even build a cummunity around. Google and adsense is a real gamble these days. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Yes Google will temporarily move a site in the index up when it detects new relevant content. Its called QDF for short (Query Deserves Freshness)

and confrimed by Google (and the serps)

There was an excellent advice above. never put you eggs in the same basket.

Remember this one.

You don't want all you income to rely on one traffic generation method (or even one business model) to go further.

Do some research on the sites that have taken positioning and do what you need in order to get your site back.

Be PROACTIVE not REACTIVE.

3 of my sites just got de-indexed. Same boat. All white hat with unique articles. No overlinking whatsoever. I suspect the Google query stuff somebody posted a few posts up.

Weird thing is, the inner-pages are still there but ranking at #100+

Is it possible that profile backlinks have been devalued slightly as the sites that are still in the serps have dropped down the rankings too this week ??

With all the abuse going on concerning backlinks I'd think google would've started devaluing them a long time ago. I'd be surprised if they didn't. It's got to where keyword stuffing was a decade ago or so.

  forum profile backlinking is not yet devalued -as far as the serps tell us - for now.
  
  too many guys i know relying on that for page 1 results - are still chillen there.
  
  Fresh content alone [ on the site your trying to rank ] isnt going to get it to rank, or continue to keep it ranked. No two ways about it - you need backlinks.
  
  Disappearing from the index and being on Page 5 are pretty different situations Fernando - if you stopped backlinking your site because you thought thats what caused it to drop out of site - and same to OP ... thats why its not going to come back.
  
  Backlinks you place dont live forever - sometimes the owner of the site removes your stuff - hey move the page to their archives or the site goes dark totally.
  
  If your hell bent on the notion of fresh content will rank ya - fine. SPIN that fresh content your posting on your blog and put it out to the article directories and PR sites [ if you can ] and on web 2.0 blogs you have - with links BACK to the original article. Maybe post excerpts and different titles [ spun ] on the web 2's
  
  Quality content - unspammy blah blah blah - but regardless you need to keep building links back to your sites. O you gots to write some really really killer stuff lots of peeps want to syndicate and give you links for.
  
  The quality content mantra is so that you create stuff people want - and they want to link to it, and subscribe to it. why? for backlinks and maybe you can pimp yer wares in it.
  
  Hard to pimp adsense clicks that way - subscribers. But anythings possible.
