Time for a Re-Think.

All this talk of backlinking is draining me, get this backlink..boost backlink ..blah blah ..

Everyone wants page 1, spot 1 and I aint no different BUT I am spending far to much time thinking about this mundane stuff.

New approach -

Learn how to write articles well .... and fast !

Invest in a few GOOD courses for article writing.

Publish on site.

Submit 3-5 GOOD quality articles daily to directorys/hub pages etc.

Submit to EZA plus 4 more top directorys AND 5 document directorys.

So that is 10 sites X 3-5 Articles daily.

See what starts to make money and ONLY then re-invest to outsource links.

This is for a large site by the way.

Forget about being a slave to google and focus on guaranteed traffic from marketing, eventually google will follow me instead of me chasing google.

    Hi,

Well, you better know your keyword parameters if your objective is to get traffic from Google.

If your objective is to get traffic from ezinearticles.com then the volume approach works. Throw up 10 articles a day and you'll see traffic.

Last Sunday night I threw up some articles and submitted them to ezinearticles.com. Only 1 of them showed up in Google when I searched in quotes yesterday.

So then I did some bookmarking and ping.fm on 'em overnight via my filipina.

I don't think Google had even spidered them.

This morning we ranked for some of em.

    These are the other phrases:

    Web Marketing Software
    Sales Letters Software
    Web Marketing Secrets
    Internet Marketing e book
    Internet marketing ezine

I don't think we ranked for any of the others on page one. But they ARE listed now in the index if you search them in quotes.

Those were relatively low competition phrases.

So from what I can see on article marketing, if that is ALL you're using for backlinks and your goal is to get into Google, you better go for "fallen fruit". See KateD's report on that in the services section.

What I've found REALLY useful is using the seo competition on Marketing Samurai to look up the top 10 listings on the keyword.

It breaks them down for you and shows you the links to each page and so forth and color codes them. You're looking for a keyword phrase with GREEN ROWS.

Now, if you want to do ezine articles and then NUKE the ezine article or something, you can go for more competitive keywords.

How much more competitive keywords is something I'm doing research on to figure out.

Alternatively, you could write another article and submit it using article robot or something else and link back to the ezine article.

    Best wishes,

    Marlon

BUt Marlon what kind of traffic are you getting on that?

That search term is showing about two hundred searches global and not enough US local for broad search and not enough data for either local or global with exact match.

IF those numbers are right then ranking an article through Ezine for those terms is practically worthless. I wrote an article on this a while back. The conversion rate for someone clicking on your article on ezines is a fraction of that traffic.

the whole point of going for very low competition low search result serps is to rank your OWN site or the drop off from the conversion back to your site is just too much
