We are constantly trying to improve our link building techniques in order to attain one of the top ten search result positions on all the leading search engines on the web. A higher search result position leads to greater visibility to our potential customers and increases traffic. A higher page rank with Google also reduces our PPC advertising costs. All this and more can be achieved with a well thought-out link building program.

Well-Proven Techniques For Effective Link Building

There is no denying that link building is a vital part of SEO. All successful entrepreneurs on the internet have devoted a considerable amount of time and energy (and money too in some cases) for establishing a good link network. Here are 10 of the most popular and effective link building techniques that will take your site to one of those top 10 search result positions.

One of the quickest link building techniques is to submit your link to relevant online directories. They might not allow links to internal pages on your website, but you can manage to get

some good links to your home page from reputed directories.

Maintain a blog in your website that talks about the products and services offered on your main site. This provides a lot of natural one-way links.

You can also submit such articles about your products and services to relevant third-party web directories. This is perhaps one of the most effective link building techniques used
today, because it not only gets you quality links, it even directs quality traffic to your website!

Another similar method is to submit such articles to relevant web forums, even if they allow only "NOFOLLOW" links.

Online social networking sites, like Squidoo and Hubpages, have led to some of the newer link building techniques, by creating pages on such sites that link back to your main site.

You can request links from your business acquaintances and webmasters of reputed sites that are related to your product segment.

Offering something FREE on your website is also one of the most effective link building techniques that can get you plenty of good one way links.

Another widely used method of gaining one-way links is by creating a useful online tool or a "resource page" for visitors which they can link to or use on their own website.
Issuing organized RSS feeds and book-marking the content-rich pages of your websites are some other commonly used ways for building an elaborate link network.
Lastly, budget permitting, you can also purchase some high quality links from reputed blogs and niche directories in your relevant segment.

Using a well-planned combination of these tested-and-tried link building techniques ensures higher search ranks and directs a lot of quality traffic to your website. It is a proven success formula for any kind of online venture or affiliate marketing setup.

Link Building is a science as well as an art. It is a delicate , quality balance of hand picking relevant links to your website. Businesses have different requirements, ranging from links relevancy, pagerank (PR) requirements and reciprocal or one way link building.

You have to decide for your business how to effectively manage the link building campaigns to achieve the business internet marketing goals.

It really sucks when you "copy paste" your first thread on this forum. For all I know.. You're probably a spam bot.

For me social bookmarking is the most effective way of link building.Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources. Unlike file sharing, the resources themselves aren't shared, merely bookmarks that reference them.

Odd first post. Always a good refresher. And like the above poster, social bookmarking is excellent. Especially for all of those articles, web 2.0 properties and any other link you want found or want to give a little more juice to.

In my humble experience the best link building techniques are the following:
1.) article submission, 2.) social bookmarking ,3.) instant profile links, 4.)forum comments (dofollow) and 5.)blog comments(dofollow).
Of course, there are many advanced techniques that have not yet adopted, but there's time.Regardless of the technique but it is best to get as many links from pages that have the same or related topics.

I recommend keeping track of your link building, i keep a excel sheet with a list of my sites, and then columns of different things i have done. E.g. article submission using UAW, or submitted blog post using linkvana, etc.
This way you can see where your results are coming from, and keep track to which sites you have done link building for, and which sites you haven't

The really best technique I have ever come across is Link Baiting. This does not only help you in getting one way link but also helps you in brand building. People come to know about your ability and depth of knowledge you possess. In a longer run it can not only give you one way links but also fans.

Hey, how about cutting and pasting an article (from who knows where) into a popular forum and then dropping your links in your sig? I don't see that on your list but I bet it's one of your favorites.

I prefer Social Bookmarking, it can easily indexed my site and it also brings more visitors to my site especially when you submit it on Digg, SU, Delicious, Propeller and reddit.

I'm new here (obviously) and perhaps an intermediate beginner to all of this. I keep getting interrupted by combat deployments. Anyway, the ironic cut and paste on this forum to get signature back-links brings up a Q, how effective is the forum signature as a link method?

A couple years ago I went on an SEO binge and submitted my site to tons of directories, wrote some articles, had a blog and had signature links in forums. It got me a PR of 4 and the Blog PR of 3, but my traffic is only in the neighborhood of 1,000/month and the $ is a trickle to a couple hundred a month. My blog got canked by wordpress and now I'm almost starting over.

I just tried "The Affiliate Code" and while I learned a lot of step by step technical info...the traffic method doesn't work (as discussed on this forum) so I'm not sure where to go now. I have great fitness products that I know work (I was a personal trainer and use them), but don't know how to really drive trafffic. Anyway, great forum, I need to do lots of research here...
