RSS Feeds and Backlinks

Before I ask my question, let me just say that I am not very familiar with the technical structure of RSS feeds, and my only real experience with them has been simple submitting them to aggregators.

So here is my question.

If a site publishes my RSS feed from mysite.com, does that constitute a backlink to my site, mysite.com, or just a backlink to my RSS feed, mysite.com/feed, and if so, does any link juice flow through my rss feed url to my site's root domain, mysite.com?

Basically, does publishing my site's RSS feed create a backlink to mysite.com and does any link juice from the publishing site flow through the RRS feed's url to my site's url, mysite.com?

Thanks in advance

Frank

It depends on how one pulls the rss feed.
If it is a javascript, no backlink. Even with
    xml. Widgets are another example.

If you squidoo, and pull your blog feed in, you can
see an example of a script pulling the feed in.

So, it depends on how people will pull your rss feed in.

If you mean getting your blog listed on rss sites, that may
give your blog a backlink from that site.

Don't rely on rss feeds for backlinks.

    Hi and thanks.

I think I should clarify what I meant by "publishes" in my OP. I'm specifically talking about sites auto publishing my posts, via my RSS feed, in their entirety, directly on a "post page" of their blog, ...............not simply posting the RSS summary feed on a side bar lets say.

Does this change any of the above responses?

    Thanks

That really depends on the site that publishes your feed. I would recommend adding a footer to your RSS feed that includes a link to your site (possibly the original story). There are several wordpress plugins that allow you to do this, such as RSS Footer
