I missed this, and maybe some of you did too.
Google is now using microdata to pull snippets to put in SERPs.
Puts another death knell to those who care so much about the
meta description.

Has anyone had any experience using html5 microdata?

Opens up whole new possibilities for your listings in SERPs.

    I've read about the star ratings and some of the other features and it's on the list of things to learn but I haven't gotten very far with it.

    If it's something that webmasters can abuse it's not going to last long.

    Pertty soon we'll have 'why does this crappy page have a 5 star rating' posts.
