i dont know your site, but i dont see this here. Results are the same no matter whether i type "S" or "s". You probably have personalized browser settings (browser history) enabled in Google, screwing with your results.

I have a theory, but only a theory. This is not the same as
      a plural.

I think the capital letter is in some way directing
google to think in "brand name" and tweaks the results
ever so slightly in that direction. Not that there is a brand
name called Skateboard, but sites that may have the Skateboard
capitalized are in an unknowing way making it look like a brand
      name.

      Why do I think this?

Because it is similar to when one searched for a person.
If you capitalize the name, you get google thinking you are
looking for a THE person, especially celebrity.

Proper names can have other meanings. Like Trump and trump.
Capitalizing, will get google to think you mean Donald Trump.

In fact, do a search for donald trump, then Donald Trump and
the results are slightly different. The top 1 or 2 are the same,
maybe, but the rest of the top ten are muddled.

This leads me to think that perhaps if one is SEOing for a
particular brand, one might consider capitalizing some of
      these words in their title.

Just theories, but the donald trump example is certainly
      worth looking at.

        @GeorgR - no personalized search.
Consistenly different ranks in both IE and FF also.

@Paul interesting you say that, because that has been
        exactly our experience with testing.

I also DO believe that Google treats lower case terms different
than Initial cap terms. I'm seeing it in our own results

(these are not our search terms, just an example)

eg: Skateboard wheels vs. skateboard wheels

My only theory is has to do with our link building efforts, and
link builders we've used who haven't been consistent in anchors.

Some have built anchor text lower case; others initial cap.

I have the same problem. FF and IE rank stuff differently.

I don't even trust my browsers anymore so I have no way to see where my site is on google.
