  As for the question, SEO is well a whole field and as such it has many aspects. Just google SEO or Google algorithm and after a few months of reading you'll realise that no one really knows how SEO works, but some know better than others how it might work.

  SEO stands for search optimization engine. basically its function is to make sure that your site will be placed on the top of search engines by using keywords in your articles. this is a tough job though becuase you really have to make sure that your keyword usage is just right and strategic.

question is pretty basic, well its a way of making your site more visible to google so it brings up your site on top for several search keywords there by increasing the slaes ot traffic and also ranking of your site.

I think thats the very basic answer for a basic question.

SEO helps to increase the traffic to one's site.You can be
included in paid search results for given keywords but basically the idea behind the SEO techniques is
to get top placement because your site is relevant to a particular search term, not because you pay.
