Now I'm pretty sure you guys do use software or online systems to check out how many backlinks do you have towards your site, but did you know you could find a never-ending supply worth of potential backlinking sites?

Go ahead and type in a keyword you're interested in and click on the first three URLs from Google's SERPs.

Place those URLs within the backlinks checker.

See those thousands of backlinks? Well, every single site is a potential backlink-enabled site waiting for you to try it out!

And the great thing is? You can keep on generating 100,000s of potential backlinking leads every single hour!

What are you waiting for? Start backlinking rightaway!

Regards,
Ed

Haha I know what you mean Okay then here's the entire eagle's eye view:

      1. Go to Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer

      2. Type in a competitor's URL

      3. Click on "Inlinks"

      4. Start sifting through the potential sites to backlink immediately!

      Hope it's more clearer now

      Regards,
      Ed

LOL the post from "Shine1" above is pure spam. He joined today, left a general "something is missing" post just to get his signature link shown, and then bolted.

Generating 100,000 of possible backlinks every hour is not
something I would ever want to do. But I will wish that
      on my worst enemy.

Personal preference. I have better things to do. Like
find a handful of high quality ones.

Yeah...Funny, Harper Collins still isn't ringing me up to ask about a link exchange with my fan site

    Neither is Amazon books.

I've been using this tactic for a while actually, Backlink Watch is the best I've seen though it is a bit unwieldy. But it will show you many if not most links. The challenge is actually getting those links yourself. Harder than it sounds.

The worst is when I key in a high ranking competitor and find 6 backlinks. Honestly, it's happened. I find that way more discouraging than finding 50,000.

This is a great way to get backlinks. You can take it a step further, too. Do this on your competitors websites. Say you find a site where they dropped their link. See if you can find a page on that site that has even better PR than the page they used or not as many OBL and put your link there.

    Good advice.

The problem is Yahoo don't show all backlinks.

Another tip: Once you've made a spreadsheet of your competitors backlinks, run their link urls trough a bulk PR checker and then work your way down starting with the high PR's.

      Yup.

Just bought it today at $99.

It works a lot like the inhouse tool we use in the SEO company I work for. Will be interesting to see how effective it will be.

The documentation is a little lacking though.

SpyGlass does help quite a bit. I understand wanting to copy your competitors links because that should theoretically put you on even footing with them, but you'll have to build links they can't copy over time to overtake them and stop them from doing the same thing back to you.

SEO is not a task that can be done quickly. Kinda like building a virtual home. Takes time

Definitely! But it is a way to get free backlink information afterall

There are more accurate backlink checkers out there, go ahead and explore other alternatives for even more backlinks

Btw, great tip over there, sure pays to be more organized.

Even better than Spyglass is Majestic SEO. They'll even show you backlinks that are not cached in Yahoo since they crawl the net themselves.

Patently false Ed. People have always found backlinks like this but most competitive serp sites in the top three will have tons of backlinks that you just can't go and "try it out". The "every single site" having that potential is an obvious fabrication.

Gary Beck is right. there are WAAAAAY better ways of finding baklinks than pouring over competitors backlinks sifting through the ones that are enabled. That only works effectively if you know beforehand that the sites are ranking with "enabled" sites. However we can't share the techniques because these kinds of conversation are no longer allowed on Warrior Forums and we aren't hawking our WSOs in our signature files.

Basically this is just teaching people how to find sites that have in WF's definition violated sites' TOS so that they can repeat the violation. If thats allowed I don't get the new rules at all.

Definition of Potential: a latent excellence or ability that may or may not be developed

When I mean potential, I mean you may or may not be able to leave a backlink on there. I'm basically pushing the fact that, if someone is able to leave their backlink there, there must be way of getting your own backlink there, whether it is through purchasing, site-wide links or whichever, there is still a possibility to leave your link there if you find the right spot.

Gary's definitely right, however this tip is perfectly legal in the sense that, YAHOO site explorer is the one that's affecting the TOS of other websites, it was never us who simply use their functions that they provide.

What the enforced #07 rule is pushing that, IMHO, you cannot directly provide a source of backlinks for others, as that is a direct offense to the site's TOS. But using a medium to create backlinks? Such as Daniel Tan's Press Release Method is still considered okay in WF moderators' eyes. Yahoo site explorer and any other backlink checkers are still within the gray area. However they'll face the scrutiny of the moderators real soon.

So... Use this information while you still can

Yes thats where the problem comes in. Most sites that rank get backlinks from sites that you do NOT have the ability to develop. that was my point but if you meant to say you may or may not be able to leave links then thats much better. its not as misleading.

As for whats allowed or not - who knows? People don't understand backlinking. To me theres no difference between handing people backlinks and telling them hey they are over here look at them over here.

its the same sites and the same TOS. Some people just don't understand that you can get thousands of TOS violating backlinsk from looking at one site known to use them and all that anyone has to do is claim all they were doing was competitive research. SO all you are doign is cutting out the people that are ot smart enough to ask the right questions.

Its less people I suppose but its not shutting it down.

    Mike,

Profile blasting works fantastic now but will it continue to do so?

I think this method is used by most SEO professionals because it evens the field. If your backlinks get discredited, theirs do to.

Then when you have gotten most of your competitors backlinks, you can work on finding some to to them.
