I think the most important factor is if you have any experience with PPC.

If not, then you have a ton of stuff to learn but the first thing you need to figure out is whether or not your landing page is going to convert for you.

Regardless of the product or service, traffic without conversions is useless no matter how cheap it is.

I usually test my landing pages on the search network first to see if they will convert well, then I build my content network campaigns.

      To answer your questions:

      - The best way hands down to use the content network is with image ads.

      - The best reason to focus on the content network is to save money on your PPC costs.

Again, you must first have a product that is going to convert.

If you are new to PPC and you don't have a lot of money, you are probably not ready for it.

You have to be willing to lose money in the beginning to get the data to optimize your campaigns over time.

Creating a successful campaign on the outset is very rare in PPC, but if you are willing to spend money to get the data and optimize you can definitely do very well.

If you want real help, you will definitely need to provide many more details as stated by Lucid.

What kind of product is it?
      What niche are you targeting?
Do you have a landing page?
      What is your budget?

I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

Keep asking questions and I will pop in when time permits and try to help out when I can.

One of the biggest things you should do if you go the Search route or the content route is to make sure that you set up "Conversion" Tracking. It's very simple to do if you're creating and managing your own web pages. Simply place your conversion tracking code on the page after the action (lead capture page to sales page/thank you page) and you will see how your page is converting and your cost per lead.

If you're not tracking you'll soon be packing....
