so, i've been using Only Wire for a few months now, for those who don't know what it is -its a automated social bookmarking service.

anyway, this passed month or so, i realised that whenever i actually use it to bookmark a link, it DROPS down! what the hell?
i have a couple sites and some other links for stuff.

one of my site competes for a keyword that gets about 450K searches a month, i was on page 5 (nothing to write home about, but it's only 3 months old and i was working my way up.)
so i use only wire to bookmark that site and my SERP is gonzo!
not even top 100...

has anybody seen the same results with this thing?

Not really sure how you came to the conclusion that onlywire was the cause of your rank dropping?

I use an onlywire plugin on all of my sites that automatically submits each post. I really only do this for indexing purposes but to answer your question, no I have never seen the same results and I think you may be jumping the gun just a tad.

Surely (or hopefully rather) you have done more than just use onlywire for building links to the site, continue to do so. After all, the site IS only 3 months old. Keep building links and give it some time.

OnlyWire has been having some serious problems lately.

I quit using is months ago because they've made it progressively
harder to use, imo. I don't use Firefox as my main browser
('cause it's bloated) and OnlyWire wants to make usage
friendly only to those who install their FF toolbar... or something
    like that.

I use and sell another automated bookmarketing tool. Of course
it isn't free, but it's reliable and doesn't try to boss me around
like OnlyWire. Described in the "Free Automated Traffic Formula"
given away at my automated marketing site, below.

Onlywire doesn't work for me now as it used to work. It just doesn't submit! Even though i logged in and use their latest version of Onlywire button for FireFox.

      Anybody has same problem?

I had that problem for awhile but it works fine for me again - I think only reddit and one other (Mixx maybe??) don't autosubmit for me now

yes, let's blame a social bookmarking tool for your drop in rankings. that sounds logical.

Your title should be "Bookmarking Sucks" then. I'm not really sure what Only wire has to do with it.

It doesn't sound like you had stable rankings to start with so I don't think onlywire had anything to do with this.

Onlywire has been having some issues lately I have noticed. But that doesn't have anything to do with your drop in rankings. They are two completely separate subjects.

onlywire was working fine for me until about a week or two ago when they told me to install the desktop submitter app instead of the browser plugin. now some very small amount like 3 or 4 will submit and the ones that need finalization will not finalize, it just waits and waits.
of course it will not let me get the old version back, so for now im done with it.

not that big of a deal, there are other options

    Hi ounj,

As you say "it's only 3 months old", that's right about the age that the QDF Freshness Factor wears off for a new website and you will see it's ranking drop to it's currently earned rankings. I see no reason to think it had anything to do with your bookmarking.

Have you had a previous ranking drop from QDF wearing off? If it's a new site then you should assume it's the (QDF) Freshness Factor wearing off and not something else.

I noticed Onlywire has been terrible lately, I'm currently looking for a solid social submitter program but haven't decided on what yet.

There are a few free ones out there but I haven't found one that is completely automatic.

I think most people agree that it would take way, way more than a few automated bookmarks to get a ranking 'penalty' in Google. I use penalty in quotes cause it isn't a penalty what you are experiencing.

What happens when you build backlinks for a keyword that you don't have a good ranking for is the 'Google Dance'.

No one can say for sure, but my opinion is that Google puts your site back while it evaluates where to position it with the new data (backlinks). If your new backlinks are strong then you will bounce back better. With social bookmarks, chances are you will just bounce back at the same position or slightly lower if your competitors did something.

I think there is the possibility of being penalized for backlinks but then we're talking thousands of bad links from gambling, porn etc. Even then you can't know for sure. That's why if you want to do 'dirty seo' you need to point those bad backlinks at a domain and then redirect to your competitor domain. Then if it actually helps, you can redirect to your own.
