Is there a way to accurately determine what the average cpc on adwords is for a given niche or certain keywords? I have Market Samurai but I'd like to check somewhere else as well.

Cheers

remember that cpc is for adwords. this is what a they will pay for a click. also remember that if you are working with adsense, ads of adsense are the content network of google, which is less cpc.

my rule is 25% of the cpc you see in any tool, is what you should be getting.

Of course this is if you are working with adsense. also remember that other factor come to play as well. ( how many advertiser, time of day, position of ad, etc)

so the answer to your question is, you would not know exactly how much you will be getting from each click.

    good luck

I'm talking about Adwords and how much I will approximately pay per click for a specific keyword or niche. Market Samurai is fairly accurate but not always in my experience

There probably is no exact rule of thumb as the q score alone plays a big variable in you cpc.

This is something i have been working on though and you can in effect in the keyword tool export your keywords / for a niche and then do an average in excel

you may need to highlight results and use the find / replace option to delete any A$ signs, then use the pie / sum symbol set to average

You can delete any unwanted keys, for example the term keyword tool is averaged out at $1.53 over 750 keys.

This would alter or change with deletion inclusion of keys.

For a more accurate view it is best to build your ad groups with your required keys then to take those keys and get an average that way, this way each ad group is probably more focused on the best average cpc.
