Hi,
I was doing pretty well for my first site. I had 100 visits a day and I had made two sales google had put be in position two for 3 of my main keywords and life was getting better.

Yesterday I lost all my rankings for 3 different keywords and from 100 visits I fell to 5 visits a day. My site is still in the index but I don't show up in the searches anymore. I have a way to check the first 500 results and I am still not there.

I don't think this is the google dance as I have already experienced this a month back when my rankings were climbing the ladder.

Has anyone experienced something like this ?

Cheers,
Kachaloo

Just one thing I use cloaking for my links but I guess everyone does that.

Also I put all my links in a folder and restrict google bots there.

I've got this kind of thing for one of my site over six months. Somedays I earn $100 because I'm #1, a few days later I'm nowhere and earn nothing. However, two weeks later I get back #1. Guess it's google dance.

This happened on several of my sites. If your site is more than 6 months old then you might have a problem. If it's about 3 months old - then you will probably rebound in a couple weeks (3 months is when my sites took a temporary dive)

You may also have been ranking for something that you had no business ranking for - and google just figured it out - in which case you may never get back to here you were.

I would suggest that you just keep building links and adding content.

      Good luck!

yes, my site is 6 months old and I am going for very tough keywords. I guess I just need to sit and wait.

In my case all my rankings for all keywords have been lost. Has this also happened to you ?

Have you done any LSI content? If not then you should seriously consider building out that type of content as well. It will underpin your main keywords.

Great advice, I found a bunch of crawl errors and I will take care of them.

As you are one of the most experienced on the forum I would appreciate it if you can share your experience with cloaking. I am having around 40 unique links which are cloaked and I plan to add another 100.

      What are your views ?

      Thank you,

I'm really naive about this stuff. What is link cloaking and why is it done?

....Again sorry about sounding dumb or getting off topic.

its a method which is not considered white hat seo. The aim is to hide the actual link from the end user and the search bots so that they look pretty and help in seo.

I only do this for my affiliate links as I have noticed my pages rank better when I cloak using javascript or php.

How to do this ? Well do a google search and you will get the idea.

I think it is a "Google Dance". I also had such similar experiences and after 3-4 days everything is back on the road. Only if you deny us something? If you did not try to apprehend a few days and everything will be ok (and done some link building as well).

You should definitely check out who is linking to you? Have you got links too quickly? these are definitely red flags to stay away from...
