How long should we wait before a profile backlink are indexed?

I have submitted a "signature" backlink to a site with PR3 for about 1 month ago and still has it not been indexed.

Should I made a post also on that site? I have heard that it only is needed to make a profile with signature backlink.

There is no set time.. I've had profile links that are never indexed.

    Thanks

I thought that if a site that has good PageRank will do a faster index of my backlink.
But do we have to make a post on for example forums or it is just good to make a signature?

I think that Google stop giving credits for forum signature links long time ago.
Don't wait to see it in google, just continue building backlinks and updating site with good content.

But it is not forum backlinks. It is profile backlinks from private sites or blogs.
But I don't know it maybe is the same thing.

So should I continue on building with signature or choose another way like article backlinking?

It depends on how frequently the site is spidered by Google. It may be one day or months.

I would agree that forum postings are very good. I think forum posts are always 'dofollow', as opposed to the blog comments that are mostly 'nofollow'.

With most good forums you have to be a bit crafty. Forum webmasters are totally fed up with self serving internet marketeers and they keep an eye on newcomers. So what you do, you open forum account and than you leave few posts that are in line with forums subject. Than you look for particularly boring topics, which nobody is attending. Or even you yourself post something really boring. The reason you are after boring threads is that they sink very fast on the forum's roster. When they sink into lower half of the page, you go in and edit the post you left before and plug a link in . Usually you have something like 24 to 48 hours time limit for editing forum posts. By using this strategy I managed to get a backlink from the highest ranked and most policed forums, and them links are still there .

Saying that, my site mostly has blog comment backlinks and it it got a huge boost from them in terms of Google positioning, although most people say that Google ignores 'nofolow' blog comment backlinks.

            We sure are!!!

One of my favorite latest tricks is that when an IM'er creates a profile link and then submits it to RSS feeds and pings it (I can often pick this up in my alerts) .... I change the profile link to that of their competitors and then change their log in so they can't change it back. Its kinda fun doing that .... as the IM spammers deserve it. ...

Nifty trick - lets just hope that enough of their competitors are YOUR competitors.

Sounds like u have a lot of free time to waste.

I am glad you asked this question, because I have a very passionate opinion about it.

One think that all this backlink vendors never tell you, is that they'll sell you a links that will never index. Out of 100 Andrew & Paula's profile links that I bought and than toiled for two months to create, I got grand total of 3 indexed.

When it comes to indexing of backlinks, there is only one golden rule: a quality backlinks index themselves. And they index themselves fast (2-3 days) without any pinging, social bookmarking etc. Crappier the link, longer it takes to get it indexed. I was waiting for some Squidoo links 2 months and I soc. bookmarked it 10 times, I pumped backlinks into that backlink, all to no avail. A back link from one of the most famous US universities took 2 days to get noticed by SE. 2 days v. 2 months. Basically one can establish a positive measurement of a link's quality, as how much time it takes for it to index without too much auxiliary methods.

Backlinking is gigantically time consuming, so in order to prevent wasting of my time I made a spreadsheet in which I was tracking every link that I made. From that, with scientific accuracy I can tell you that Paula's links are wast of time, Squidoo is waste of time, backlinks from various guys that charge $0.50 per link are waste of time. Various directories where you have to pay $3 to $10 are good, they index within 7 days, on their own. Just follow what worked for your competitor

I am trying now Backlink Index Express, but I am half a way through it, so I can not tell weather it is good or bad.

Focus on quality. Quanitity will cost you both time and money to 0 (zero) effect.

Always Use Forum Posting sites, you will get huge backlinks in just few days. Its 100% sure, but you will have to do quality work and follow the rules and regulations of every forum site.

So there's a difference between getting a profile page indexed (very hard), and then getting a post from a forum indexed (easier) ?

I kind of gave up doing forum profiles as they weren't getting indexed and I couldn't stomach buying another piece of software, i bought link dominator in order to get my links indexed....where does the cycle stop?!

Bookmark the profiles, they will pop pretty much instantly
wang a pingomatic into the mix and if all else fails convert
the profiles to a RSS and submit em.

I typically get a link source indexed in under 2 hours.

I created RSS feeds of my profile links, normally putting around 25 profile links into 1 feed and then submitting the feeds to RSS directories and social bookmarking sites but that didn't work.

Bookmarking - you mean creating 1 bookmark per profile link? Doesn't that take crazy amounts of time

The words which you have heard are true. But there is no specific time for indexing the signature. You dont have to wait, just carry on with lot of more work for SEO.

Lie's all lie's! Forum sigs still count. In fact all "dofollow" links count, never let anyone tell you otherwise. But they just aren't as valuable as say, editorial links.
