Should I submit my new website to yahoo directory listings? It is 299/year. Does it worth it?

Depends on what your website is about. Generally it works pretty well as long as you have a good category to list under.

Have you had luck getting affiliate sites listed, or have you tried? I'm talking about quality affiliate sites with lots of good content not thin ones with just affiliate links. I've heard that they won't list affiliate sites and I've been hesitant to chance $299 on finding out.

I have heard that it is just as good to submit to lots of free directories because yahoo obviously has a lot of listings so overall your backlink won't mean as much.

      Hi,

It would be better to buy with that money a couple of high page rank sites (pr 3 and pr 4 will do the trick) and point them to your targeted site, sites like Digital Point and Flippa can be a starting point for you (google them).

You will buy them and you control them, they will be usefull not only for that site that you want to list on yahoo now but for many others, pus you can sell links on those sites too and make money

      Regards,

      James

Yep if you're serious about your website and it makes you money it's worth it.

It's expensive but in my experience it usually gives a big boost in your rankings. Check out your main competitors see if they're listed there.

Gawd, this forum is horrible at times.

There's pretty conclusive evidence from guys like Jerry West
testing this over thousands of properties that part of Googles
algo takes into consideration a Yahoo paid directory listing.

With the $299 and no guarantee of submission it ensures
that for the most part only quality sites get in.

It's a great way to add trust in Google's eyes , yes, do it.

I haven't tried submitting to Yahoo directory but I think before you do that you must prepare first all the thing needed because that charge is non-refundable.

If you have a quality site definitely do it. If you have something that won't stand up to the quality they require you are throwing your money away.
