Website Ranking on page 55...

I have been working hard on my site for the past 3 weeks. I bought a WSO and followed it to a tee.

Here is what I have done:

Website name includes keyword
Content includes keywords in first sentence
Title of Page includes keyword along with permalink
Wordpress Plugins - XML sitemap, all in one seo
Unique article wizard submissions so far of 2 different articles ~ 50 / day
Angela backlink service for May

I have 6 pages or so on the site, all good original content. The keywords I chose have between 3k-10k phrase matched searches per month.

This was my very first attempt at making a website and I feel it is pretty good for a first site. I just don't understand that when I have done what I consider decent SEO I am on page 55 for only 1 keyword which is not acceptable.

Market Samurai says I have 18 backlinks but I probably have more...

This is also the first time I put a guide to action and actually made a site from scratch and it was a good learning experience non the less. However, I am slightly discouraged because I figured a good 3 weeks in I would be closer to the top because services like UAW and Angelas are supposidly pretty good...Any ideas on what I should do would help a lot!

I'm not too sure what a WPO is but what is your competition like for the first page of google?

      3 weeks is not long...

Also you are probably over promoting it.

If you monitored it on an hourly basis it would probably be bouncing all over the place...

i use a rank tracking plugin on some of my sites and you won't believe how many times they can bounce up and down every day.

This type of stuff is long term, after I build a site and get it indexed I generally lit it sit and mature for a few months just adding the occasional link. Since doing this i have lots of sites with multiple pages in the top 10

Thanks that's good info. While you wait for it to mature are you adding backlinks? If you just wrote the content, put it up and waited would it not be hard to reach the top 10 without a lot of backlinks?

This is the first mistake many people make. They think that SEO happens over a course of a month. This can happen if the KW is very low competition. However, on a med competitive KW it can take 6 months of continue link building. Make sure you stay relevant with your backlinks as much as possible. Don’t get frustrated and have fun!!!

Many WSO's offer first page ranking in 1 month window, however there linkbuilding won’t stick most likely and are making the linkbuilding look unnatural.

You're at least using an aged domain, right? If not, who sold you this WSO?

Drew...that is brand new in the SEO world. It looks like you are on the right track. Rankings aren't something that anyone can say, "It will take 6 months."

The truth is there is no way to tell how long it will take. Keep doing what you're doing, and slowly start to ramp up your backlinking as the site ages more. After you're site has gained some trust then you can start building more backlinks.

Just keep up with what you're doing. Continue making and looking for new backlinks.

I would also recommend making a really good squidoo lense and maybe a few hubpages that link to your site. Make them really high quality. Not only will they give you link juice but they will also drive traffic. Use one of the keywords you are already targetting on a squidoo lense. Make it real high quality and add content to it slowly.

SEO takes time. Keep up the work and you will see progress.

Thanks man, I will definitely keep at it. Thanks for the suggestions about the squidoo lenses. Never really thought about that giving traffic. Thanks!

No problem. The best advice I can give is to just keep at it. Sure there are tips and tricks you will pick up along the way, but if you stick to the basics you'll do well. Put out quality content and build backlinks. That's really all you need.

Backlinks are about more than just gaining ranking though. The best kind of links drive traffic and linkjuice. Those are the best kind.

That's rubbish. You don't need an aged domain. It MIGHT help a little bit...but domain age isn't a major factor in determining SERPS.

      It doesn't take 6 months.

If you like...pm me your url. All I want to do is look at the source code from the browser and tell you how to get to where you want to be.

    Build quality backlinks with variation.

There's no quick fix to SEO, but tests have shown that having an exact match domain is very valuable when competing for a specific search phrase.

55 rank with approx no SEO is a good start but remember its really very hard to increase your ranking as you up in google..

All you have to do is just build backlinks daily...
    Use following method:

    Most effective

    Article submissions
    Blog commenting
    Web 2.0 properties

    Less Effective

    Directory submissions
    Social bookmarkings

Make up a plan for a week to use these methods per day..

All the advice here aint gonna mean crap if the first page is loaded with high authority sites with 100's or 1000's of backlinks unless of course you don't mind waiting months and perhaps never reaching the first page.....
