What else can I do to increase my rankings?

So I have just made a new page for my site.

I have a good page with H1 tags, and H2 tags, and it has the keywords I want there.

I also have pictures about 6-7 with the keywords in the alt tags.

I have pinged the page via pingler and another online tool.
I have made a youtube video, was 20min long so I split it into 2 videos and have the full url in the description box.

This was done say 2 days ago.
This page is in google at the bottom of page 5.

The goal is to be number 1.

What else can I do to improve my serp rankings?

    You need to WAIT.

    No page is going to #1 just like that - unless it's a low competition market.

    Hi guys,

    Well I know that backlinks are the key. But it is just bugging me on the best way to get them.

    Has anyone used tubemogul to distribute their videos? Does it give you much more rankings etc? or more views ultimatly getting visits to your site?

        Your on the right track....sounds like you have optimized your site correctly....now it's promotion time!!!! Videos are one source of backlinks.....you can setup profile accounts on high pr forums/blogs that are relevant to your site and that will also help you gain a better footing in the SERPS.

        Linkwheels (you probally won't need this though since your already on page#1 for you given term with a new site)

        Article Marketing- write a few articles using some related keywords for yoru niche and submit them to Ezine (best_for quality backlinks), GoArticles (quick approval _ lower standards), and other Article directory site. I won't submit the same article to all....one unique article for each.

        There's a few that will get you started...there are several other methods to use but I would just be repeating all the info that's already out there....using those alone will get & keep you at the top of Google for your niche since your almost there so early on.

    SEO helps increase your ranking. Just make sure to do On-Page Optimization first (done within your site) then next is Off-Page Optimization (done outside your site).

      Well I rank no1 for the main url phrase. low competition. but I still did youtube videos, article and directory submissions.

      Do people have excel worksheets that they have list of things they do after they make a new page?

      Something like, directory submission, atricles, etc. This way you could track what you have done to you off page seo.

      And if someone has a table layed out like this, I'd love a copy.

    Well, when I started my site about Mens Wrist Watches last year in September or October, the first few months I could not find it on Google's SERPs. I signed up with Directory Maximizer and let them submit my site to 100 Directories. And just recently I started writing Articles and submitting them to Ezine. Guess what - as of today, I found my site on page 1 of Google's SERPs for my main keyword phrase "Mens Wrist Watches"!!! So - patience, and just keep building these backlinks! I believe that Ezine Articles are the way to go...
