best option to accept flexible payments via a website

OK, I am not new to SEO but still quite new to running my own business. So I've got a dumb question: what is the best technology to accept flexible payments via a website. There is no pre-set amount. If I used PayPal's "donate" option, would it be, like, weird? What else is there? I am looking for something inexpensive.

Thank you!

MoneyBookers, but it's not as widely recognized as Paypal. By the way Moneybookers is regulated by UK Regulatory Authority while Paypal is not. That's why Paypal can do anything to your money while being accountable to no one.

You would probably get a lot more answers if you posted this topic in the main forum.

Thank you, guys, I have added to your Thanks.

I will ask something further here though:

-- I guess the PayPal donate button says donate. Would be be technically and legally possible to replace it with one that says Pay?

-- I am in the US, so what good a UK regulation can possibly give me?

Sorry, I am still pretty naive about these things.

For starters that won't eat your money without hesitation.

There is also Google Checkout and if you want a merchant account, Authorize.net is popular.
