Backlink questions for a Wordpress user

Hi all,

My apologies if these are dumb questions but right now I plan on running my affiliate marketing website where I promote a product in each different post. This means that I may have upward of 100 different posts all promoting different but similar items. From everything i've read, backlinks are your key to success, but i'm confused about a couple of things:

1 - Should I be trying to get backlinks for each of my posts? That again would mean 100 different backlinks. Or would the main domain name suffice?

2 - If I need to get backlinks for each post, can anyone share some tips on how to accomplish this? So far i've been trading links with other bloggers but I think it would be very tough and doubt i'd get any interest in someone giving me 100 backlinks.

3 - If I create an HTML file with all of my backlinks (link and anchor text), can I place a link on my other webpages to the created HTML file and will Google read the contents of the entire file?

Hope I make sense, thank you!

You want to backlink your posts but you want links to your main url aswell you also want the links to look natural so if you get 30 links a day you want to get 30 everyday so that it looks consistent to the search engines

being active in forums will give you links as commenting on other peoples blogs that are high pr. You can also put up squidoo lenses and hubpages for each of your affiliate products and link them to your blog aswell. This will give great link juice as they are High PR

Im not sure what you are asking in number 3 is that you are going to create a link page on your blog and get reciprical links built

You can also social bookmark your posts. I use only wire to make it faster. I also use an auto backlink generator which posts spun blog posts and social bookmarks. I write a campaign for each of my blog posts for a few weeks.

    1. Yes, you should create separate backlinks for unique posts and also
make sure to make deep insite linking. Link from posts to home page and other
    posts.

    2. To get backlinks quickly, best ways are: article and video marketing + social bookmark
your site using Onlywire or Social Marker

    answer to question 1

You should deffo get links to every page that you post. The two main factors of ranking are backlinks to the page and backlinks to the domain. So by building links to each and every post, you add authority to your domain.

    answer to question 2

I use a blog network to great success. here's an example within 45 days I ranked 2nd and 3rd for "green profits". If you are using a wordpress self hosted blog PM me for details of the network.

    answer to question 3

The best way to create a links page like what your suggesting is a sitemap. you can customize the sitemap so the links are more keyword friendly - but its a great way to get more links to your pages. Don't forget to set up a robots.txt file with a link to the site map. The reason for this is the first page the spider looks for when it get to your site is the robots.txt file. Then the first link directs the spider to your links page which means the spider doesn't miss any of your pages.

    I hope this helps...

      Hey,

Thanks for the help. I'd love to be part of the blog network, but don't have 50 posts to send you a PM .

      Thanks!

        Thanks for the help everyone!

I just wanted to clarify a few points. Right now I have good internal backlinking setup. I have a Related Posts Wordpress plugin, and also make use of a random post display generator within the code which helps. The issue i've had is with backlinks and finding someone to help me out . Article marketing is a good idea and will try the other ways as well.

As for my third point, I think I confused everyone . I already have a sitemap setup, but was wondering if google would read it from other websites and use it for backlinks. I have a couple of other affiliate marketing sites (Site A and Site B), and want to get quality backlinks to 100 points to Site C. Would these steps work:

1 - Create a Sitemap HTML file that contains links and anchor text to my 100 links on Site C
2 - In the Links section for Site A, add a link to this Sitemap HTML file.
3 - In the Links section for Site A, add a link to this Sitemap HTML file.
I'm wondering if that would help page rank or if it would only work if I had 100 seperate links on both Site A and Site B.

        Thanks!

Don't do link trading, stay away from that.

Do build links to various pages and posts on your site as well as the main page.

Build a mix of links: blog comments, article links, forum postings, social bookmarking, RSS submission (add in video if you can).

    Don't over-complicate this, it's not that hard =)

I have heard that most blogs are "nofollow" blogs. Is there anyway to determine if a blog allows links to be left?

Also, has anyone used Socialmarker.com? I tried it out, but I assume you have to sign up for each of the services first?

      Thanks!

I use Social Marker and yes you have to sign up to each of the services first...but worth it, saves you time in bookmarking after you get your accounts set up.

  • Try to get anchor text links for each keyword you're trying to rank for.
