I have about 20 websites for which I target and track 44 keywords. I have #1-3 ranking for 20 of those keywords on Yahoo!. I have top 10 on Google for only 3 of them. Is there any hope that I will make 1st page on Google anytime soon? Is the ranking algorithm that much different between the two?
#google #make #yahoo

There's no way to tell for sure. You can keep promoting, building backlinks, write articles. Nothing is automatic.

Google are a bit different than Yahoo, as I find Yahoo are more focussed on volume of links where are Google looks at the quality of the link more closely. You might want to start getting more high page rank back links and not necessary but does also help to get some on topic ones too.

Nothing beats the natural way of doing SEO techniques... just continuously do backlinkings, article and video marketing and directory submissions.

Probably not. Google is a completely different beast to Yahoo and Bing.

bluenetworx has told exactly what you need to do and why.

No one knows search engine algorithms. With Google what you can do for those keywords is take a look at the top 10 and see how they reached the top. Firefox have some plugins where you can look at SEO specific things. It really depends on the keywords themselves. How much competition use it in the title, url, head etc ..., what is the PR of the top 10 ? How many inbound links does the top 10 have to the page that is ranking on top 10 ? How many have submitted to DMOZ ? Market Samurai will make your analysis a breeze.

How "soon" you'll reach top rankings depends on your competition and the amount of work you are putting in (content publishing and link building). The more effort, the quicker you'll climb the rankings but again you can't just predict 'when' you'll reach that rank and you need to study your competition...you can rank faster in a less competitive niche than a more competitive niche. Do your homework and then do what needs to be done and you'll get there.

Try to build backlinks with AT the same as the keyword you are trying to rank for. That should improve your rankings in Google to an extent.
