How long does google take to find backlinks?

Hi all, I have a question about how long google takes to find backlinks. I am new to AM and my first goal is to make a system for reaching page 1 SERPS. Anyhow, over the last week I have posted many blog links, probably 25 dofollow blog links, created 2.0 properties (probably 25), and published some eza's that currently rank much better than my site. All that said, my first index was 97 and I'm now in the 60s for untargeted SERPS, but I feel like most of my backlinking is unnoticed by google.

Long story short, to the pros here, how long do you normally need to wait before you see your backlinks affecting SERPS?

    Depends on from where you get the backlink. If you are getting the backlink from a blog which is visited regularly by the bots, you should see the backlink picked up pretty soon.

    Chances are it has found your backlinks already. It finds them as soon as it recrawls and reindexes the pages. (You can safely ignore the link: operator and even the link feature in the Google Webmaster Tools -- those give you just a sample of your links. To see more of your backlinks, use Yahoo Site Explorer.)

    Here is how you can test it if Google has found a link of yours. Go to the page where the link appears, check that the link is there (has not been removed). Then copy the URL and type into Google:
    cache:URL
    And look at the cache. Does your link appear in it? If so, then Google has found your link and "knows" about it.

    That said, blog commenting is a bottom-feeding tactic when it comes to link building. It is a depreciated tactic and only helps if your keyword is hugely non-competitive, otherwise it's pretty much guaranteed to be a waste of time. You can look into diversifying your SEO linkbuilding techniques.

          There is no answer to your question, your backlink could be find in 1 second aswell it could be never found - it depends on situation. For example google is going to find your ezine article in less than 24hours, but finding a forum profile backlink could took weeks if not months.
          Also google don't show all your backlinks, to be honest, from my experience they show less than 1% of backlinks. Use yahoo to see your backlinks, but yahoo will also show a very little part of your backlinks. There is no way to see your all backlinks, except checking every single internet page yourself which technically is not possible.

            The answer to your question is; it depends!

            It depends how aggressive, moderately aggressive or non-aggressive you are in your backlinking strategies.

            If you want your backlinks to get picked up rather quickly if not almost immediately, include those pages as part of a well thought out and tactical social bookmarking campaign to some of the top tier social bookmarking sites. You can also employ RSS Feeds, Article Directories, Ping services, etc., to ignite the power of those backlinks.

            Aggressive = you include all of the backlinks you created in all out blitz to get them indexed. This system is accomplished by utilizing IM tools such as BMD, BLB, BIE, Posterous, RSSBot, SEO Quake, SEOLd, outsourcing, VAs, etc. This mode is best employed by experienced users and seasoned IMers.

            Moderately aggressive = you are engaged in creating backlinks and then bookmarking, pinging, RSS Feeding and other strategies to get those backlinks indexed. A normal rule of thumb is be aggressive with around 60 to 70% of your backlinks and let the other 30% to 40% happen naturally in the non-aggressive mode.

            Non-aggressive = you are waiting on the SERPs to pick up your backlinks naturally. That means you are depending on and hoping that the sites you placed the links on are properly SEO optimized and interlinked and being crawled on a regular basis and that those sites are aggressive with their Off Page SEO strategies. If not, you could be waiting a very very long time.

            P.S. Contrary to the comments made by PhilipSEO, Blog commenting is not dead...

              I didn't say it was dead, only that it's a low-level linkbuilding tactic. Mud house building is not dad either, but it hardly qualifies as construction.

                I don't need to read Eric's article because we have our own team of crack IM engineers, analysts, researchers and seasoned SEO Pros. We stay on top of the game and cannot be swayed by: five or ten page dissertations, flaming statements peppered with combustionable phrases such as half arrsed or by closing phrases such as, "Ignore at your own risk"

                You stated your opinion of one method of backlinking, I've acknowledged your opinion. Having shared that; our results say different. When our Off Page SEO says different; rest assured we will alter our tactics. The thing about seasoned savvy IMers is that they are not moved by hype, social engineering, fear marketing, slick sales pitches, charismatic personalities or feelings.

                They are moved by the facts and when they need to make in-flight adjustments to their SEO strategies and tactics, they do so based on facts and never opinions.

                If Eric, Tom, Dick or Harry asserts that a SEO method is no loner valid, doesn't work or is half arrsed and yet, its working for us; to be clear, we could care less of Eric's, Tom's, Dick's or Harry's opinion.

                That would be like listening to the guy who claimed man wasn't meant to fly. It was his opinion and he was entitled to it. But you see the facts?

                  It depends usually around 1-2 weeks but sometimes they take longer and there are ways to make it shorter

                  For what it's worth, there is no single SEO whose name I'd recognize that currently advocates blog comments as a power SEO technique. But I have no pride to lose in this argument. Publish your data, refute me.

                  The data I see is all the people all over the forums complaining of exactly the thing that Eric describes. "We have been doing 'high PR forum posting' and 'high PR dofollow blog commenting' for months, and it improved our SERPs for a while and then the improvement stopped. This is consistent with my own experience. A small handful strong backlinks from trusted, relevant, authoritative domains (try PR4-6) are worth thousands of blog comments. (I'll give you a hint: I still hire blog commenters for diversification purposes, but that's a very specialized SEO task. It would have been cheaper for me to use them as the primary driver of my clients' SERPs, but the problem is my clients want results.)

                  As I said, I'd love to see your data. Short of that, show me just one high ranking for a competitive term that is sustained chiefly by blog comments, and you will have proven me wrong. That should be easy, right?

                    Agreed. The "cost/benefit" of blog commenting is not worth it as a link building strategy. There is some benefit to it, but the time is better spent on other things. I prefer to spend my time going for real links that really make a difference.

                    If you attend any of the major SEO conferences and attend the link building sessions ... blog commenting, forum posting hardly even rate a mention these days.

    It depends how often that particular page you've put your link on gets "Spidered" from Google.

    High PR pages get spidered every few hours while low PR sites get spidered less basically meaning it takes longer for Google to find your backlink

    I don't think it takes up to 24hrs depending on the site you are linking from thou. If its an authority site then 24hrs is too much.

    It depends on the frequency that google crawls the page you place the backlink on. There are some which Google will find within a day and others that can take a couple weeks or more. Personally when I build links I wait a month or so and will see the backlinks help in the serps.
