Backlinks from web profile pointing to URLs of the same site - Devalued by Google?

Hi,
This has been an issue that has been on my mind for quite some time now.

I want to place backlinks on other websites, a web 2.0 profile for example. Let's say I place 3 anchor text backlinks.

Option 1: I could have all three of these links pointing to 3 URLs of the same site.

Option 2: I could have each of the 3 backlinks pointing to URLs on 3 different sites.

My concern is that with Option 1, the links would be less valued by Google for some reason, and all or some may be not counted.

Can someone advise me on this? Do multiple backlinks to different URLs of the same website from one location get devalued in any way? AND IF SO, how much of a factor are they devalued by? Please put this in quantitative terms for me. For example, if I have 3 backlinks on each of 50 web profile sites, that is a total of 150 backlinks. If all three of those backlinks point to different URLs of the same site, are all 150 backlinks still recognized by Google? (How about if they all go to the same exact URL?)

Thanks!

Unfortunately no one can put any such decrease in terms of quantitative numbers since as far as I know no one has done any type of empirical study on it.

That being said, common sense says there there should be a decrease in the value of the links for the linked to sites when links to the same domain are used, versus having links to multiple domains. Now, when it comes to links to a domain like squidoo or hubpages or something, i'm not sure, as those types of sites have thousands upon thousands of members. But in any event, you should be building up the authority of your own sites anyways

Think about this for a second. We have 3 sites to promote, each with 3 pages we want to link.

You have 300 profiles (or whatever) to get links from, and lets say 3 links per profile (or whatever).

Option 1: 100 profiles will point to each domain, with each of the 3 links pointing to the 3 internal pages.

Option 2: in each profile, you link to one url on each domain, so that each url gets 100 links.

Under Option 1, you end up getting 100 links to each URL, and 100 links to each domain.

Under Option 2, you end up getting 100 links to each URL, and you get 300 links to each domain.

I think clearly that Option 2 is the far superior option here as you are building up the authority of your domain by a factor of 3 over the first option.
