Warrior SEO Statistics

I ran a free SEO webinar yesterday and invited warriors to participate through a WSO thread. In the process, I surveyed the participants (mostly warriors) and ask them a couple of key questions.

I thought it would be nice to share the statistics with you. Hopefully they will help you with your marketing or product creation.

I suppose it's not surprising that most people rate themselves as a five. When asked to rate SEO knowledge I labeled one as clueless and 10 as extremely advanced. Five was labeled as enough to get by.

The surprising one for me is that there was an exact split down the middle between people who had and had not achieved top rankings on Google.

What was the sample size? Are we talking 10 respondents or 10,000?

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Very interesting poll. Thanks for the time you invested in this. I’m surprised nobody considered themselves advanced....

    Interesting!

It would have been great to get some $$$ numbers to go with those statistics. Like how many who voted 5 has made more than $100, $1000 and so on.

Great info Bosse, thanks! Although the sample size is small, it's really something to consider when reading the threads and replies.

Definitely... I have been looking into this a lot recently. Randfish has updated his SEO salary post last month, so check that out at the Moz although it doesn't have anything to do with Warriors.

Pretty amazing to think that half the people on the board have never ended up in the top 10.

Makes me think back to the beginning of my IM journey....wish I would have selected some easier keywords those first few months lol

The results of the poll are very interesting. I suggest you should have included another question in the poll - from how long have you been in the seo or IM business? That would have probably helped us get some more valuable insights. Don't you think so?
