Last month "May 2010" was good for me as finally amazon arrived for me and I made my first $100 from it. Instead of product widgets, I use amazon links within articles and this strategy has proven to be boon for me. Just wanted to share with warriors - Amazon placements can be seen here

Tip: Use amazon links at a place where you are convinced that your readers are convinced about your expertise in the area and have the maximum probability of believing your reccomendation.

Sometimes, an article or two dedicated to amazon products will compliment this strategy.

Congratulations! And thanks for the tip to use links in your articles. I'll be using that strategy more and more.

There was another thread on here recently from somebody who made a lot of money on Amazon, and he also mentioned that the links in articles got the best conversion rate. It's good to have a confirmation of that from somebody else.

Congratulation for the first $100 from Amazon. That's always the hardest to get the first payment but it will become easy after that since you know how it works

Congrats and all the best meeblogger.

Evert - I think the thread you were referring to is the one by Dan Brock. He advises a similar approach which I'm starting to implement myself and hopefully will continue to have good results with.

Also never spam your link in the first paraphrase itself.establish a relationship with the reader and then refer them the product.never push them to buy it.
    thats the key

      Hey Congratulations on making $100.

Clicked the link in post, the site seems to be about SCM and ERP. Can see ads for chitika and google but nothing on Amazon. Sorry for being stupid but where is "Amazon placements can be seen here"?

You will need to check couple of articles in the site as I do not use product widgets but amazon links within the articles - this makes sure that the site does not look over advertized and yet the reader when clicks on the link reaches amazon store for the product that will help them reach their intended benefit from this article. As is suggested by other warrior members - please do not push the readers to buy something - just suggest it at a point in post where you think that they are most convinced about your expertise in the related field. Small tip but highly effective.

Example: Look at this post which provides a link to the amazon within in the post where readers are most engaged.
