Can PPC be trusted -- false clicks

When I awoke this morning, I checked my stats for my sites and one site had an abnormally high number of hits. That didn't make sense, since it was overnight and very few hits come in overnight. I checked the data and it was all clicks from ask.com, which I guess is my Yahoo PPC. A lot of these clicks were only 4 seconds apart.

I logged into Yahoo PPC and last night stats are not up yet. Now that I think back, I have seen this a couple of years ago but it didn't dawn on me what it was. I wonder if I have been ripped off with fake clicks.

Can PPC be trusted?

If you think there has been some fiddling you will need to file a notice with yahoo, with your dates , times and records / notes so they can follow it up. a whole pile 4 seconds apart that is normally slow seems a little odd.

There's always a % chance of fraud. Keep a close eye on things.

yeah. I know Google tracks invalid clicks for adwords. However, they do not always refund the entire cost. They do a good job catching invalid clicks. The only thing you can do it make sure you are using the right keywords. Look at keyword reports and include as many negative keywords that is applicable to your business as possible. Adwords is a great program though! It can be trusted. The invalid click issue should not detur you from using it.
